I wish all people would ditch their cars for trains, subways, trams, buses and bikes.

While it might be great for certain people in certain areas, it’s not even close to possible in many other places or situations. If you live in an even moderately suburban or exurban location…good luck ditching your car. Doubly so for rural areas.

And for a typical family, they will typically need two cars.

A little over twenty years ago I switched. I think it used to be there were many upsides to manual, including better mileage. I think that has since flipped, or at least been largely mooted.

I still preferred manual for driving in snow, but I think even there if you have an automatic that shifts up/down, the advantages are mostly just a placebo, I think.

As a for instance, the thing about Biden smelling hair - I still see the right wing talking about that, even right now, as their AG is sitting there and covering up for the Epstein Class. That kind of thing, along with Hunter Biden’s hard drive, oops, I mean “laptop”, and nonsense narratives like Pizzagate/Qanon seemingly has completely captured approximately 30-35% of the country, also known as the Sarah Palin Floor of the population. That set of people has been trained to feel Biden and Obama (and Clinton) were the worst thing to ever happen to America.

The idea that the United States/the world should be run by businessmen is one of those ideas that is so pervasive and yet so very dangerous (and stupid). I’ve hated that notion every since I first ran across it.

I cannot tell you how cloying it was to keep hearing the chattering classes praising W as the “CEO President”. Donvict likes the notion, too, which is completely unsurprising for a narcissist that wants to rain down revenge on anyone that criticizes him.

The idea that the President, who should absolutely have to answer to us should be treated like a CEO only naturally has the implication that we all suddenly become at-will employees that report to him, and the country becomes patterned after a top-down corporate hierarchy(corporations are rightfully called private tyrannies).

That is a terrible idea if you have any interest in freedom and autonomy. People should remember they have no freedom and no autonomy within a corporate structure.

I’d like to see them locked up myself.
