  • I agree. If the fediverse allows crap like that and it grows, new users will be turned away by their feed being filled with garbage posts like that.

This is a place for people to share interesting content for other humans. Not some cheap and easy way for someone’s bots to communicate with other bots while CCing the whole world. This garbage content is being sent to everyone’s feed by default but it can’t even be consumed by humans. What if someone starts uploading ads like that? Get that shit off of Lemmy.

  • The more time passes the more I realize how widespread the problem of rich and powerful people living under a completely different set of rules has taken effect. They are abusing this situation to a point where they have developed their own subculture and much looser morality standards. They can’t even help themselves but let it slip that they think that being a pedophile is considered normal now.

And that’s just the tip of the lawlessness and moral depravity iceberg. We’ve seen on increasing occasions that they don’t even care about hiding it anymore because Trump has shown them that there are no consequences.

  • I really think it is incompetence though.

She touted her killing her dog as proof that she has the grit to make tough decisions in the past. She seems to equate the ability to make tough decisions with making decisions with horrible consequences because she has no understanding of true priority management. I bet she really thought she was being a “tough decision maker” when she decided to sacrifice the chance of rescue of that poor member who fell into the ocean just so her deportation flight remained on schedule. But really, it is just an absolutely shit incompetent decision.

  • Wow. I don’t know if everyone understands how unbelievably fucked up that is. A person overboard is usually considered an all hands on deck, high priority search and rescue operation because of how hard it is to spot the person and how finding that person a few minutes earlier can make the difference between rescuing a person and recovering a corpse. She downright sacrificed a Coast Guardsmen’s life for something that could have waited. This is beyond incompetent priority management and I can guarantee that most Coast Guard members hate her guts for it now.

IMO Supreme Commander failed to capture the original game’s soul. You had a sense of an epic battle going on when playing. I think it was because it always devolved into playing all zoomed out, watching tiny strategic icons moving across the map, blinking and disappearing. I can’t even tell you what any of the units looked like because we almost never see them. The fact that they gave generic names to units and structures such as “level one point defence turret” didn’t help either.

BAR does a much better job of keeping the player zoomed in and into the action, seeing and feeling so the cool details of the battle going on. Heavy plasma batteries blowing up chunks of advancing armies and terrain, lasers blowing up individual targets in rapid succession, sending debris flying everywhere, this was all what TA was about.
