Slightly unrelated but I live in a liberal county in Texas and am somewhat removed from all this and at the beginning I thought it was the news just making stuff up but I recently visited a family member in Chicago and I shit you not ICE and the police are straight up chasing brown people. If they see a Mexican they will interrogate you on the spot and god forbid you speak Spanish. It’s absolutely insane what we are allowing as a society and if this continues we will have a US citizen killed at a protest in the not too distant future.

You’re misunderstanding what I’m saying. I’m not saying they don’t have those expenses. I’m saying the cost of those things at higher incomes is more.

Not sure what stage of life you’re in but I’ve been on both sides. I’ve lived off 28k and im fortunate enough now to make 100k. You can try to say both incomes have the same expenses but that is misleading. At 28k I was driving a shitty 98 Honda accord that got stolen several times because all you needed to start it was a screwdriver. I couldn’t afford rent solo so I had to split it with someone. The weeks I paid rent I had to skip meals to make ends meet. I opted out of health insurance at my job because I couldn’t afford to take a $50 pay cut every check.

At 100k I can afford my mortgage, my car payment that I need because it’s an suv that fits my whole family. Health insurance for a family etc. however it is tight and I can’t afford any other luxuries like vacations or going out to nice dinners for anniversaries and stuff.

So yes it’s tough on both sides of the spectrum but don’t sit there all high and mighty and tell me to fuck off like I haven’t been on both sides. The other side to this is people at lower incomes LOVE to tell people making more than them that if they had X amount more they would be set but that’s just not true. All of us need to accept that our government is screwing us over and robbing us all of basic necessities. And before you say it yes vacation with your family is a NECESSITY. Time off work is a NECESSITY. Stop buying into the bullshit that we don’t need those things. Life is more than work and sleep.

It’s about perspective. People making 30k don’t own homes and don’t have car payments most likely. People making 100k are paying mortgages which cuts their pay by about 1/3 and then a car payments takes another chunk. Not to mention healthcare or car insurance.

We don’t need another tyrant. She is doing just fine with her responses. Active on social media, speaking out and pointing out the hypocrisy in her speeches. Can’t ask for much more from a person with integrity.

It won’t put people out of work. They will simply opt out of their healthcare plans. It will increase medical debt across the board and you will see a MASSIVE influx of patients into the ER because that’s the only place that will treat you and send you the bill afterwards

That doesn’t work because it targets middle class working Americans. Maybe increase the tax on housing not covered under a homestead exemption.

Pretty sad situation. I feel for the families that were affected by this. It is crazy that this is yet ANOTHER situation where a plane built by Boeing is at fault for a fatal crash. At what point will we see consequences for a company that does not take safety precautions seriously?

Also the plane was built in 1991, 34 years ago. I don’t know anything about plane lifespan but I’m not sure who is more at fault here, UPS for using a 34 year old plane or Boeing for poor maintenance.

90s millennials really got lucky. Too young to be affected by 2008 crash and just getting out of high school to take advantage of Obamas economy. If they played their cards right they bought houses or invested when Trump was putting trillions into the stock market to prop it up and keep interest rates low.
