It may be nitpicking, but Bovino was just removed from leading the operation in Minneapolis. He kept his job and was allowed to retire. He was rumored to have been headed for retirement before the ops fuckups in MN. I’m sure that the administration hastened his timeline, but he was spared the indignity of a public firing.

Does she though? I could see the administration stonewalling by claiming that she no longer represents it in that capacity. I even wonder if ducking her testimony was a primary motive in doing this now.

Seriously though, while there were no consequences for the administration other than looking dumb, she made them look really fucking dumb. She would have to answer new questions about the shady and sloppy redactions, the disappearing documents specifically related to Trump, and the fact that despite the order for full release, only around half of the files were ever made available. She already demonstrated that she can’t handle pressure. I think they’re worried that it could go even worse the next time.

You know that at very least Hegseth has been walking around with a half chub at the thought of reinstating the draft. We’re talking about invading multiple countries at any given time. All of the strong man dictators that Trump admires are in countries with compulsory military service.Then there’s the timing of the announcement that Barron is ineligible to serve because he’s too tall or some shit, the press secretary refusing to rule out a draft, and now this. I think they are seriously contemplating the possibility of a mandatory draft in the future.

Isn’t this more or less the same as it has always been? Even during 1.0, about 33% was the MAGA ride-or-die base. If we had to vote in a Trump election again tomorrow, I’m sure that the missing 18% or more would show up once more to fuck us all.
