  • Uh. I suspect those vans probably use an actual logistics system, unless Borat runs your countries restaurant distribution system. Most restaurants here in the US buy their food from Sysco or that other company, there are many smaller distributors also. Those are using a logistics system of some sort.

Insurance here in the US really likes trucks to go the speed limit. Every medium size business I can think of uses some sort of GPS logistics system to monitor drivers. It’s only shitheads like Amazon and FedEX that have cameras on the drivers (I think the UPS union shot that down) but I know for a fact that all three of those companies have GPS tracking on their trucks.

  • I was in the Denver Art Museum riding the elevator down and shared the car with a guy who looked like he made $200k a year and his bitchy wife. She gave me the stinkeye while glaring at me while I chatted with her husband. I just squared up and gave her mid handbag and shoes a quick once over before shaking my head.

Shit, my boots cost more than her handbag and my watch probably costs as much as her shoes. Who cares if I’m in hiking boots and some old Polo long sleeve.

Bitch, art is for everyone. I know I’m working class but at least I buy shit that will last and is actually useful.

So I definitely recommend you do stuff like that.

Oh, he was definitely wearing a Rolex, but her handbag wasn’t even CC

  • But for me, knowing that the USA did the Iran and CIA stuff while the USSR did Afghanistan and KGB stuff is enough for me to decide both were elitist assholes that didn’t care for normal humans but just wanted to increase their own power.

That’s actually a pretty solid take from what I know about it. Both powers were being total assholes and wanted control over as much of the world as they could get. USA had strong weapons power but USSR had strong soft power, bringing social programs to people who desperately needed them. Roads and bridges and such.

  • while Russia was the aggressor in Cuba and arguably in Afghanistan

Fucking pardon me? Russia literally tried to take over Afghanistan after the US gave them weapons to protect them from Russia.

“We are not afraid of the Russians, but we are afraid of their helicopters.”

    – Some Afghani

edit: I’d say that the USSR wasn’t really the aggressor in Cuba, that was Fidel and his cohort. Castro literally reached out to the Soviets because he needed help after his revolution.
