In China the government can force you to leave your village so they can tear it down to build more industry. They will offer you below market value for your house. A market value which has already declined drastically because your location has no future, fucking you over twice.

Except this isn’t China but wholesome The Netherlands instead.

Landslide, by the way. Natural disaster, not structural engineering failure. But that kind of “detail” is of course not going to be mentioned.

I could point to several bridges no more than 100km away from me that collapsed during the severe flooding we had in Germany in 2021. And some of them are still not rebuilt.

Shit happens when you have natural disasters, what’s important is how you deal with it. China closed the bridge just in time and avoided any casualties.

How much do you want to bet China will rebuild the bridge, if not in this exact place then just a little further away over the same valley within a year at most?

there is large discussion on the korean left about china. many see them as a model of efficiency, while others are quick to point out their contradictions, particularly their overseas investments in real estate in korea. in my opinion, these questions are there to obfuscate the primary contradiction that is the military occupation of the united states.

    another day, another struggle!

Got a few days off the job this week. Which is good as I could feel my sanity slipping away with every living second there. I can use the days off to read my new Star Wars EU novels which I am looking forward to.

Keep yer mental health steady. Communism will win.

Also, at this point, for the Belgian government, I hope the drones are Russian or military. Because it painfully exposes how incompetent this country’s defence is. Yesterday five drones managed to hover over a nearby nuclear facility without being detected or taken down. For over an hour.

Or this is the point and it will be used to further military spending.

Apparently the Belgian army has a specialized anti drone team that has not been called to action, so it is suspicious.

I don’t understand how the Russians are supposed to be doing this all the way over in Belgium. Not only is it pointless, it would be an extreme waste of resources. Not even of the drones themselves but of the human resources.

If they have agents embedded in Western Europe why would they be so stupid as to waste those assets on such pointless stunts that only help the Europeans increase the level of paranoia and militarization? What do they realistically even gain from it? There are much better ways to gain intel that is actually relevant to Russia.

The dysfunction of Belgian drone defenses is totally irrelevant to Russia, they aren’t ever going to need to drone strike Belgium. If they were to probe NATO defenses they would do it in the Baltics, Romania and Poland, where they may actually need to strike at some point.

And why would they risk their agent network being burned on such a childish stunt? It’s not like it’s impossible (for a competent country) to find out from where the drones are being flown. People have been arrested before for flying their hobby drones over restricted areas in many other countries.

So, sorry but the “Russia theory” makes zero sense and anyone who continues to insist that this is a serious possibility just loses credibility in my eyes.

imagining a very confused phone call

“General Kobylash, how goes our probing of Belgian defenses?”
“Mr President, they uhhhh… seem to be just letting the drones just… hover there”
      “Over the nuclear facility?”
      “Yes”
“How many drones made it to their target?”
      “All of them”
“And they haven’t made any attempt to shoot them down?”
“No, they are just sort of… staring at them, it’s a little odd”
“Are we absolutely certain the Belgians actually have an air force?”

One of the funniest exchanges I read about this ordeal was between defence and the police. Apparently defence filed a report at the police because drones were flying over their base but since the police is also the victim of budget cuts, the handling of the report might take weeks. This is a national security breach of basically the highest order lol.

I can only imagine the feedback at the Russian side being like how you described above

Can we keep Gatorade when the revolution comes? (unless they’ve committed atrocities I am unaware of as is usually the case with capitalism soft-drink brands)

Been tryna wean away from buying treats but Gatorlyte/Gatorade just hits the fucking spot that IV powders and shit don’t. Lots of landscaping finishing touches before winter hits with some fall-weather work and it makes me feel normal so quickly unlike the other hydration stuff that takes forever. This feels like an advertisement for Gatorlyte but yeah. I guess mostly I’m just posting this to see if some user tells me about the Gator-Death Squads in central america squashing trade unionists or some other atrocity I’m unaware of.

        • sounds like you need to modify the recipe until it has the same effect; there’s probably already research on the proportions available online

(the answer to your original question is that the new proletarian state would create its own equivalent, so there would be no need to maintain the old corporations)

(the answer to your original question is that the new proletarian state would create its own equivalent, so there would be no need to maintain the old corporations)

Wouldn’t nationalization of the corporation basically lead to it being the same entity just reorganized in whom it rewards/enriches? I genuinely wonder if it would get a new name. Stalinade.

And yeah, I was seeing if anyone had their own similar recipes. Gotta crack their powdered/concentrate recipe from those pods/powder packs they have and it’s surprisingly tough to find an exact match online. I do make my own if I am gonna be away from a store for a couple days in a big 2l. A link I found was pretty close to what I do and my partner showed me it a while back

            https://gardenbetty.com/vietnamese-preserved-lemons-chanh-muoi-and-salty-lemonade

Really close to the yellow flavor.

Yea, nationalization comes first and then the transitionary period of worker control, which the design of depends entirely on the conditions of the socialist experiment in that nation/area, e.g soviets.

The nationalization period is funny to think about though. Entire capitalist corporations at first getting completely owned by whatever form of socialist experiment comes to X country. Even a soviet leading groups of local supply chains of Pepsi is a funny thought. Just the idea of Pepsi becoming socialist. Major capitalist brands that have been associated with the face of the economic hegemony now reorganizing under the will of the workers. I understand it’s happened in the past, but we are such a terminal stage of capitalism that Stalinade is just funny.

Smoking is bad for you but it’s great for socialising. I always have a person come to me after the club because saw me smoke a cigarette, because they need a cigeratte or a lighter. And then we start talking. I don’t smoke a lot, but it’s great to be a social smoker when you don’t have that many social contact. I’m gonna quit when I have a better social life

When I was still in my partying era, and smoking, I’d have the Wilders conversations in the smoking areas of the bars (which existed back then). If it wasn’t so bad for you I’d do it again just for that lol.

It also gives you an excuse to remove yourself from crowded social situations that you are not enjoying. You say you need to go outside for a smoke and chances are at least one other person will join you and you can finally talk one on one. Or you meet someone standing in the smoking area and strike up a conversation with them. Regardless, it’s an excellent opportunity to socialize in a smaller circle or just to chill together in silence and enjoy the fresh air.

I don’t smoke anymore and haven’t for over a decade, but i still miss that part. If only there was a way to be a smoker without actually smoking…

I fucking hate Americans so much. My countrymen are completely insufferable.

Criticize Republicans and you’re a Democrat; criticize Democrats and you’re a Republican.

Nothing else exists. Two parties, two ideologies, two worldviews, two moral compasses, two philosophies, two of goddamn everything. Nothing more, nothing less.

I fucking hate it here so much.

Like… we are so past partisan politics and electoral solutions lol. Even in Canada I have to hear this donkey shit about the alternate universe where the conservatives won and how it’d be worse when I’m being fucked over by the banker factions NOW, in this timeline.

I think people would be just as upset, Democrat or Republican; we saw more pro-Gaza protests under Biden than Trump.

I wish the pro-Palestine protests were still going on.
