When you see how men’s hockey team reacted to Trump’s joke about inviting women’s team, it makes it all the more repulsive. Not shocking, but still disgusting.

This is what I use my Karakeep instance for haha

Good public trackers were shut down. Getting into decent private ones is a huge pain, if you even manage to get an invitation/interview. Some trackers aren’t compatible with *Arrs (due to Cloudflare). Seeders and speeds can be awful, and keeping a healthy ration isn’t easy for some. If one is willing to pay, Usenet is a great alternative. I run both to cover most ground, but mostly rely on the latter now.

So, a relative of my partner’s is an influencer. I thought they had a glamorous life, because they travel all around the world. Turns out they don’t even technically get paid to promote products. Their trip expenses are covered, but that’s about it. Which I find bizarre, but I guess as long as they’re young and pretty it works.

ITT: confidently incorrect people who can’t take 5 seconds to do an internet search, lol.

What are you even talking about? They both acquired it over Jure Sanguinis, both of them barely understand any Italian. They have dual Italian citizenship.
Nobody said anything about needing ancestors to live somewhere else.

It’s not quite the same, but I know someone who acquired Italian citizenship because their grandparents were Italian/had Italian citizenship. They don’t even speak Italian.
I occasionally have wet dreams, but I don’t have a penis, so it isn’t a problem. What is a problem is my unconscious mind picking partners for me. Those choises are either highly questionable or absolutely gross.

At least according to Wikipedia, the original The One Horse Open Sleigh was possibly intended as a drinking song. That’s also what I heard from someone I know, so that’s what stuck with me.

Jingle Bells was originally drinking song, not related to Christmas at all.
And that’s definitely a big hurdle many people don’t want to get over to join a rather niche platform. Most people just want things to work and not think about it any further. The older I am, the more I understand the sentiment.
We shouldn’t need to spend hours of our free time just to find out where it is “safe” to post memes and share silly stuff. Sure, if we had to do that only for lemmy (or fediverse in general), it wouldn’t be a big deal. But there are so many things in life we use, it’s impossible to devote enough time to research every single one of them. Especially when there are more important things in life to spend time on. It’s exhausting.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I feel this is one of the reasons lemmy/fediverse will remain niche. Maybe this changes in the future.
We’re supposed to introduce confused normies to the fediverse by telling them to just pick any instance, because it’s all the same. And then shit like this happens, lol.

I watched it on ign.

Tragic for the families and affected children. I’m not the biggest fan of sperm donations considering there are obviously next to no laws that prevent hundreds of kids being born to the same sperm donor.
All of the experts we spoke to said using a licensed clinic meant the sperm would be screened for more diseases than most fathers-to-be are.
Yes, but fathers-to-be don’t usually make dozens or hundreds of babies. And sometimes by the time they want another child, the firstborn might already exhibit genetic mutations that prompts testing parents and give them a better picture of the risks of having another child.

There’s a difference between “I thought I was infertile” and “I literally don’t have my uterus and ovaries”. In these situations it comes off as patronizing because there’s “no way” a woman who doesn’t have her reproductive organs knows what she’s talking about. It’s one of those things that adds to the massive pile of medical mistreatment of women, and that’s why it’s a touchy topic for many.

Pregnancy test for MRI? I had one early this year (I hated it) and I certainly did not have to take a pregnancy test. Or do you mean pregnancy test in general? Because that one pisses the fuck out of women who absolutely 100% know they aren’t pregnant (haven’t had sex, don’t have their reproductive organs anymore, other possible reasons).

Good to know. I have a pair I bought early this year and have been wearing them almost daily. If they come apart in that time frame, that’s gonna suck, because they weren’t cheap.

Disappointing to hear. They’ve been my go-to for years. I have a pair I bought this year and wear almost daily.

Why Ecco? I’ve been wearing the same pair of sneakers by them for a decade now and they’re still holding up well. Have they gotten worse in recent times?
This is the more likely scenario for people who think they never had COVID. Unfortunately, from my understanding, even if asymptomatic you can still have lasting effects. Lovely, isn’t it.
