I’d be disappointed to find I had one. I’d be a terrible mother and my wife would be even worse!

You could always switch instance though. That’s a thing you can do in the Fediverse. You can’t do that on Reddit.

Don’t bother arguing with stupid. They’ll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

They’ll be replaced with rapid charging stations.
This is already happening. Not too far from where I live, right on a main road, a BP station closed down late last year and they’re in the process of replacing it with a 20-bay BP Pulse rapid charging station with an attached store and café.
They’re going to make a fucking killing. And not just because they charge almost £1 per kWh.

At the risk of stating the obvious:
They’re fictional creatures. They do whatever you think they do.

In England we had a three-party system for many a year. Then the third party (Liberal Democrats) showed their true colours. Then we had two. Now a new third party, Reform, is rising up on a platform of racism. They’re splitting the racist vote. That allowed a fourth party, the Greens, a noteworthy victory in a local by-election.
I don’t know how it works over there, but what I take away from this is that it wouldn’t have been possible without people who were willing to vote for not a third party, but a fourth party.

That’s awesome! Love it when replies are lovely :)

Did you get a reply? :)

I run mainline Ubuntu and there has only ever been one game I wanted to play that I couldn’t play, and that’s because Epic Games deliberately made it incompatible.

I scrolled down to post this too

I don’t think I’d bother engaging, if they’re speaking in simplistic gotchas they probably got from the internet I have better things to do with my time, such as my wife

I got shadowbanned from Reddit a few months before I left. I didn’t even know that shadowbanning was a thing. As soon as I learned why my posts weren’t getting any replies at all ever, I emailed in to ask why, and got a canned reply saying that they aren’t going to go into detail. I still have absolutely no idea why it happened. So I just deleted my account and moved over here.

This has been asked and answered by a surprisingly large fandom, try a search for “portal panties”

What, exactly, do you think a community of randos is going to do against a heavily-armed extra-legal military operation?
This isn’t a jab or a gotcha, I’m genuinely curious what this idea of community defense would look like.

I’d like to say I upvote anything that I think is a positive addition to the community it’s posted in, regardless of whether I agree with it substantively or not. But honestly, it’s all just vibes.
Downvotes aren’t a thing on my instance and I like it that way.

HOW COME NETFLIX REMOVED THE N FROM THEIR SHOWS, KIND OF MAKE IT SEEM LIKE THEY BORROW ALL THE STUFF? I USUALLY USE IT FOR A SEGWAY INTO OTHER SHOWS/MOVIES NOT MADE BY THEM?
(sorry, couldn’t resist)

I wouldn’t do it.
The risk is huge. To maintain good diplomatic relations they would probably forward the emails to US federal law enforcement (assuming they weren’t just sniffed in-flight), who would gleefully take a cheap W by throwing you in a Supermax prison.
Absolutely not worth it for the reward of feeling slightly cheeky for a few seconds before realisation sets in.

I mean, it uses WebRTC which is an encrypted format, I suppose if you have to go via a relay server that might be a possible attack vector but certainly not enough to worry about over something like a group photo.
For multi-recipient or if you’re worried about snooping you might want to try https://wormhole.app/ instead, which is instead a temporary file host, it’ll host files for 24 hours encrypted at rest (the encryption key is built into the URL you share)
I said could. We’re comparing Lemmy to Reddit.
