Major infastructure projects (in certain countries) tend to turn into infinitely deep money pits due to rampant mismangment and corruption that can swallow the entire budgets of smaller nations and still not get done. They tend to drag down the average.

At this point I’m pretty sure an asteroid could obliterate 95% of the US and the markets would just skyrocket even more. They’re so detatched from reality its gone from satire to sad.

The vibe of the first one was so good, I think 2/3 had more fun characters in terms of just having interesting/fun kits but the first game will always be my favourite for the overall tone.

He’s a good showman, its basically the cornerstone of his current success, he may not appeal to you or me but he has that used car salesman, carny barker style energy that really appeals to a certain kind of person.

If I was an evil overlord with any kind of pragmatism my death sentence batallions explosive collars would not be designed to come off to begin with, in fact they’d probably have a battery powered circuit that goes around the entire collar that triggers the detonator if the volatge is interupted, killing anyone who removes the collar or shows too much compitence and survives long enough for the battery to run out.

Remember when we joked about america invading anything for oil and then we all stopped for a bit because they tried to convince us that there was more to the US than being the state equivelent of a crackhead with a dozen shotguns? And then they launched a self described war to bring about the apocalypse and also steal all the oil… can we stop pretending everything is ok!?

Instant death is less cruel and also doesn’t give them time to carry out any spiteful revenge killings in their final moments.

From the reviews I saw it didn’t help that starfield looked and played like a skyrim sci-fi mod that leaned into the Bethesda loading screen meme on purpose.

On the nostalgia front I just want to say I’ve never been into metroidvanias and never played any kind of metroid game before, I tried metroid zero mission an hour ago and I’m already hooked. These games are just genuinely good. Not dunking on newer games I play those a lot too, just saying not everything new is better and I’d love to see some kind of happy middle ground.

To a much lesser degree cyberpunk (and I would suspect fallout 4) with the correct mod sets can have the NPC factions carry out battles and limited warfare without any player intervention.

I think a big one to me is when the world doesn’t revovle around me, when things happen without player input because the player isn’t the centre of the universe. Every NPC just wating in stasis or walking on a preset loop forever until I hit the next event trigger really kills immersion.
