The only reason the Republicans ever win is because their only opposition is the Democrats and vice versa. Both parties have worked to produce the plutocracy that has not only given the world Trump but also the coups in Iran, Chile etc, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea. Just like in my country, Americans need to go for something other than the status quo, because the status quo is what got us here. To be clear, what I’m advocating is an end to imperialism and capitalism, first in the imperial core and then the rest of the world will be permitted to follow, not via Leninism but via a democratic process.

You can tell that I’m British so I’m clearly not showing up to these protests. But we all have skin in this game as we’re all affected by the American Empire, especially today. We need you to get this right and not go back to a world that gave us Nixon, Bush, Bush, Trump and a president that promised hope and change and delivered a healthcare plan from the Heritage Foundation. We really need Americans to understand that the status quo has wrecked our planet and we need to try for something very different.

I think you’re reading a bit much into this comment. I think I speak for most of us when I say we’d rather see the USA liberated than destroyed. Of course, to the capitalists in charge, those are equally unthinkable.
