Here in Australia, there’s a stereotype that Aboriginal people are lazy, because they don’t like working all day to make capitalists rich. Well I don’t like working all day to make capitalists rich either, and if My ancestors only had to work a few hours a day to survive, I’d be resentful about it too.

The precolonial Australian landscape was carefully managed to improve the ability of the land to support people. Aboriginal people used fire to control the development of plant life to create ideal habitats for the animals they hunted. The ecosystem was engineered to improve efficiency. That’s why they didn’t have to work long hours. They worked smarter, not harder. They built an ecosystem that made life easier.

Today I learned about the proper way to hunt crabs in the land where I live. You use a two-pronged stick, and you don’t stab the crab. You let it grab on. Young crabs will run away from you, so you don’t chase them, they’re not done growing up yet. The fully grown crabs will come towards your stick, and then you can have them. So you don’t waste time trying to chase down small crabs that don’t have much meat, and in so doing, you preserve the environment. You take what you need, and it’s easier than fighting against nature.

Fight nature? No way! That’s for white fellas. Aboriginal people didn’t do that. They followed methods that have been improved over tens of thousands of years to live without harming the land, carefully keeping it intact for the next generations. If you fucked with the land and made it unsustainable for the next generation, you destroyed your way of life. That’s a murder-suicide against your entire family. Nobody’s gonna let you do that. People would stop you.

Money is a social construct. Money can be real, but only to people who are either so ignorant they don’t understand the issue, or to people who admit that reality is also a social construct.

They trap your mind in a prison, and they have more than one prison for different kinds of people. Some of the prisons look like you’re working against them, but it just advances their agenda further.

Not to mention the Pope. He’s got so much magical power over people. But the new kid on the block to challenge Christianity is the worship of money. Trump knows it, he’s made himself a religion.

The rich are using magic. We need it too, in order to have an equal footing.

If you’re lucky enough to live in Australia, get to know the Aboriginal people in your local community. Attend some Indigenous cultural events as a learner. White culture has forgotten how to value relationships over technology, but Indigenous culture still remembers. Just remember not to be a nuisance. Listen, be respectful, and do what you can to give as much help as you receive.

That’s why I think we need to use more religious techniques. And no, I don’t mean ML brainwashing. I mean we need spiritual ceremonies. We need to use magic as part of our praxis. We need to liberate our minds from the religious brainwashing of capitalism.

It will pass when the left overcomes our internal differences and works together to fight the fascists instead of each other.

I sure hope you’re right, but I worry that the Democrats will be stubborn and support Israel even if it lets the fascists keep winning. And I worry that the voters will be stubborn and “support” Palestine even if it lets the fascists keep winning. If either of those doesn’t happen, it’ll stop getting worse for a while. But if they both happen, then trans people will be fucked and Palestinians will be fucked, and some people will be convinced that only one party is to blame, rather than both.
