I recently watched a man carrying things video on disturbing works and he talked about 120 days at Sodom. The portion he read aloud (a description of one of the protagonists) interested me. It basically said somrthing like “he would have had his head chopped off 100 times over had it not been for the silver he provided.”

Honestly, i don’t know what to make of it. Did Sade support this? Was he pointing at the hypocrisy of it all? If he was, was he saying that he ought to be executed or that everyone ought to be able to partake? Or maybe was it just part of the fantasy? I’m not sure.

Reading about all of this feels like I’m hearing about a devil. Or just a pure animal. And it fascinates me. Considering he gave the eulogy of my online namesake, I’m intrigued ever moreso. Is it more frightening for him to be saying things with much meaning or perhaps moreso if there is no meaning to what he says beyond compulsion.

I’ve had some interactions (not here) where people assume that because my rhetoric on former US soldiers isn’t BE level that I’m somehow sad about soldiers dying in thr middle east. So…apparently one of the girls at my Uni in a friend group of mine thought I was hitting on them and it made them uncomfortable.

Also for some reason I hate the fact ai is pushed to really just compliment you all the time. I knows there’s prompting thay might fix thid but I don’t use it enough to bother with it. Oh im not planning on going for a long while, at least a year. But it’ll be my first time visiting a foreign country for any serious period of time so I want to be well prepared.

Edit: I think my problem is that he has this “give an inch take a mile” approach. It’s like “well I don’t like Hasan” and it’s like, that’s a fine thing to have I’ll keep listening to you. Sometimes i wonder if my mom would’ve hit me/beat me had I turned out to have been more rebellious. She used to hit our pets and initially tried spanking me until it became obvious it was ineffective. I was extremely compliant with her and would only raise my voice once every few years, so if I had been…“normal” I really wonder if she would’ve lost control at some point…

I just feel like it exemplifies a lot of our problems with the whole system. The rich declare the wars but don’t fight them themselves. I’m not saying it wouldve been right if they did (see: Rome, medieval Europe), just that it is a good example of everything wrong with the system.

Although I’m coming to realize I don’t particularly care for “morality.” I’m not a vulgar materialist or ultra-leftist, i just feel like it’s like arguing about whether it would be better for unstable atoms to do B+ or B- decay. You can’t just say it ought to decay in one way or another, but that it’d be better if it did, and for it to do so you need to put it in certain circumstances. If that makes sense
