I have always wondered why electronic thermostats use 0.5°C increments and the answer seems to be Fahrenheit compatibility.

4·9 days agoI personally think it’s geography. The Irish, Scots and Germans were important sources of mercenaries and that didn’t stop anybody from attacking them.
Also Switzerland fought quite some wars throughout history against great powers like France and Austria too.


Well if the system fails a bit, your bus or tram won’t drive because the driver isn’t paid.
If the system fails so hard that fuel isn’t available at all, you have a catastrophe uncompatible to industrial society in total.
