A loving parent won’t get themself in a jail unless it’s something that benefits the child enough to cover for losing a parent for many years.
Suspended sentences work so that if you trigger the activation of the suspended sentence during the probation time, the whole length of the suspended sentence starts rolling. Therefore, if at 4 years and 11 months of a 5-year probation you do a crime that triggers the activation of your suspended sentence, you sit 7 years. And if you commit the same crime on day 8 of the probation, you still sit the same 7 years.
At least over here in Finland it can also work so that the suspended sentence is only a couple of months for some crimes, but the probation is still 4 years or 6 years or whatever. People often read that “damn, only two months and they are free”, but in reality it means you must spend 5-ish years having to be mindful of not doing any similar-ish, even much less serious, crime or you’ll find yourself sitting behind bars for those two months plus whatever the repeated offence carries.

I do not think you’re right in your claim that I’d struggle learning one more language as an adult.
It’s also a myth that children learn languages faster. It takes them about 5 or 6 years to learn their native language at a level we adults would call “fluent”. An adult can do the same in some two years if they have an active approach to the learning.
There is a technique about learning languages. Learn that and learning languages becomes quick.
So, do I have a right to reside in that country?
I assume I’d need to get an alien passport first?
What would be needed as soon as possible is a roof over my head, a source of income and starting to learn the local language.
And then I’d have to figure how to get my children where I am.
I would survive essentially the same way I am surviving now. There is no huge different between how life is in difference countries. I’ve started my life largely anew some five times now, in various countries. All in all, it’s the same experience anywhere.
So, the answer to the question is: Relatively easily.
It means that one side is has gained an ability that is extremely dangerous for the society. It is a real imbalance, but the solution must be to raise awareness of the danger.
I would be surprised if there was a country that don’t have their all laws set in the paper form.

How, precisely, would they stop the war? They are trying it together all the time, with zero success.
The cash is held “as hostage” mostly by EU countries. USA is trying to convince those EU countries to return the money to the Russia, with very little success.
They are kind of sanctioning the Russia, but all the new sanctions they are making are tacoed. There were sanctions against Lukoil, but they were revoked. The Russia and USA are stalling. The Russia is doing it to bleed Ukraine dry, USA for some reasons that are inexplicable.
The war will end whenever USA or EU decide to give their full support to Ukraine. As long as that doesn’t happen, Ukrainians do not really have any other option than to continue fighting.
It is possible that WW3 has already broken out, but is not called that way yet. WW2 was not immediately called WW2 either. It took some time for it to grow to the dimensions that enabled it to be called a World War.
As in the previous two world wars, some countries will be switching sides. Just like USA has been doing now, hopping between the side of the Russia and the side of humanity about once per week, depending on how their president is feeling about things each morning.
If we are currently in WW3, then the sides are very confusing:
USA is against China but on the side of the Russia.
China is on the side of the Russia but not really against anyone. Except its own minorities?
EU and UK are against the Russia but not against USA or China.
Wait, what? Why would the Russia not threaten to roll an army down your neighbourhood if there was a war including it and your country?

This is a common view in Portugal and southern Italy. And to a reasonable extent in France as well. In Spain not so much, though!
In most of Europe you can easily live all your life without seeing those, but they do exist.
My country, Finland, is probably the most hypermarket-based society in Europe, so maybe you’ll want to steer clear of here if you don’t like hypermarkets :D
Here’s something scary for you from the capital of Finland, from what I would consider urban area:
All of the ex eastern bloc countries in Europe live in a somewhat similar way, but they don’t have it as bad regarding this as Finland does.

In Poland those don’t exist half as close to city centres as in Finland, though, so it’s easy to be safe from them!
Portugal, southern half of Italy, Greece, and actually probably all of Balkan countries have it very well in this regard! I love the tiny shops in those parts of Europe! :)
I have watched a couple of them because the only video I have found on some interesting theme has been such a reaction video.
But, I’d say that I do feel kind of comfortable “having someone around” when watching the video. I would still prefer the video without the extra commentator saying things aloud that I can see myself, but I bet there are people who really do get something out of the reaction videos. I’d imagine they are very nice things for the most intoverted among us?
Still, they are there mainly for generating revenue for their makers and for youtube, not so much for some actual need…
