That Stormy Daniels was paid with funds embezzled from the Trump campaign and hidden behind false financial reports.

I presume Schumer is upset by the accusations that he’s spineless and wants to demonstrate that he does in fact possess a spine. That’s made of pudding. And that he only breaks out when the stakes are low.

It strikes me that this in a way illustrates how delusional Trump is.

He’s an egomaniac and a pathological narcissist, and he’s demonstrated repeatedly that he’s obsessed with how other people see him - he’s desperate to be respected and admired.

And I have no doubt that he sees this gift as a mark of respect and admiration.

And it very much is not - it’s the complete opposite in fact. It’s the Qatari royal family pretty clearly saying that while strengrhening ties with the US under another president would require a great deal of detailed discussion and negotiation, with Trump all it requires is giving him something bright and shiny.

I grow more convinced every day that the explicit goal of the Republicans as a whole is to destroy the US - economically, politically and socially - so that they and their cronies and patrons can (so they hope) buy up pretty much everything of value, completely jettison any notion of liberty, justice and democracy and build a theocratic, feudalistic autocracy essentially from the ground up.

They aren’t undermining foreign relations, destroying the economy and destabilizing the country as some sort of side effect of their agenda - undermining foreign relations, destroying the economy and destabilizing the country is the agenda.

I’m about 99% sure that she is “Grima Wormtongue-ing her way into his mind,” and she’s doing it by way of his pants.

And I don’t think she’s acting entirely on her own behalf - she’s essentially a messenger.

In a 2021 speech titled “The Universities Are the Enemy,” then–Senate candidate J. D. Vance declared that universities, as left-wing gatekeepers of truth and knowledge, “make it impossible for conservative ideas to ultimately carry the day.”

Yes - universities are by their very nature in opposition to irrational positions borne of ignorance, hatred, greed and fear.

That is as it should be.
