You say “time to act” like the act is some glorious mass mobilization into armed conflict. Historically, there is a slight, but significant, reduction in majority violence against armed minority communities, e.g. areas of the Jim Crow south with higher rates of black firearm ownership. There is inherent value in the oppressors knowing that certain pockets of their targets are armed. I don’t know what fantasy land you’re living in where we all just decide to fight the US Army some day.
