The pinephone has this, but unfortunately the phone itself is more of a tinker toy than a daily driver

Interesting timing to read this :
Earlier today, I left to do errands and pick up groceries and managed to forget my cellphone. First thing I thought I was “oh no, can’t play my music” but then I just kinda drove and did my errands.
It was kinda nice not to have my cellphone during the car ride. Had a feeling of being “untethered”.
Both are using Firefox base
I like to test browsers through www.browseraudit.com although im not sure how reliable the results are. I tend to stick with Browsers that score high 390’s / 400.
In case you are wondering, Floorp scored a 400, while Zen scored a 397. Not bad at all
Weird that both taskbar icons for both browsers are the same? (Yellow circle with white “W” on it). Both were downloaded for linux, zipped.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•/e/ OS does a little trolling and sends all your Text to Voice data to OpenAI for processing and Speech generation.
0·7 months agoMan, i really want to like Murena as I have been using e/os for about 3 years now. Even signed up and pay a yearly subsriction for their online ecosystem, albeit its more expensive, but i wanted to give my money to the underdog in this instance.
Going have to read more into this since last years failure doesnt help their image

Can we please have something in this world that isnt ruined by the general population? They already ruined the internet -
been plug and play for me using Nvidia + Linux for years now. Just upgraded to a 5070ti, literally was take out old, put in the new.
+1 for PineTime. I have had mine now for 3-4 years. Love the little guy
Look into Asahi Linux. Its a community driven project Fedora (and other distros) to run on newer Silicon Mac’s. I have it on my M2 MBP and its amazing. It may not be for everyone since it runs AARCH64 / battery isnt great (6+ hours). But its my best looking Linux install due to its screen
Software, OS support and hardware specs.
Overall it was a fun project which introduced me to the company Pine64, which also makes the Pinetime Watch which I wear every day for the last 3-4 years.
Phone just isn’t there for daily usage. Horrible battery life, back then the OS worked but were wonky at best. Maybe things are better now but I wouldn’t hold my breath
