4·1 month agoThat’s still just an assertion on your part. Maybe you should surveil some books before making assertions.

4·1 month agoAnecdotal evidence can be true or false but is not usually subjected to scholarly methods, scientific methods, or rules of legal, historical, academic, or intellectual rigor, meaning there are little or no safeguards against fabrication or inaccuracy.
This does very little to add any weight to your assertions. No effort is required on my part still.

In logical discussions, the burden of proof lies with the person making a claim, meaning they must provide evidence for their assertion rather than expecting others to disprove it.

0·3 months agoI got a nice OLED TV as my main monitor. I only connect it to the internet to run updates if I think it is necessary (there is also usually a USB option for updates too), then disconnect once that’s done. Works great for sailing the seas and streaming whatever. It’s unfortunate I paid for stuff that I won’t use in the TV, but that’s often the case with many products these days.

0·6 months agoGot a text from someone that has been interacting with some folks from Taiwan on an international trip. This was how they described the situation.
They are in their 60’s and grew up in Taiwan and own an apartment in Taipei, returning often, both speak Mandarin. They said the Taiwanese do NOT fear China, that is the opinion of the US government.

Any info on the Xi photo? Because it is amazing.
This would be like a photo of Netanyahu sitting down to a meal with Gazans if you actually believe all the ‘China is doing a genocide’ propaganda.

more ethnically diverse

In a 2012 ruling by the Supreme Court on the issue, some of the judges on the panel discussed demography, and were inclined to accept that demography is a legitimate consideration in devising family reunification policies that violate the right to family life.
Those in favor of the law say the law not only limits the possibility of the entrance of terrorists into Israel, but, as Ze’ev Boim asserts, allows Israel “to maintain the state’s democratic nature, but also its Jewish nature” (i. e., its Jewish demographic majority).
I use Cinnamon. Things might be different with others, but the same concept should apply.
I have OLED tv as my main monitor, and adjusting the settings of the screen allowed me to achieve this using a black image at full screen. The screen looks like it is turned off. I even tested with a dark room. No light comes from the screen. Once you get that set, then using black in UI colors should achieve this if I understand what you are asking.
I’m not familiar with HDR capablity within Linux though, and many newer OLED screens have some of these capabilities. That could be another element to consider depending on your screen capabilities and settings available.
