Boycott them, even it means resorting to smaller venues. You will likely save money and not feel guilty giving these guys any money.

I agree with the public spaces. Just put https and we’re good.
The worst part of Matrix is needing to copy recovery key onto each new device or install, or else you will lose access to all your messages in public servers. Its been discouraging and I rarely use Matrix because of this inconvenience, but I really want to – but it’s too exhausting and time consuming. And I lose track of conversations if I lost the key, which isn’t practical if I’m working on something and getting help.

I like the alternatives, but they mean nothing without being federated.

I still have my CAD $210 Google credit from Google because they throtted my Pixel, and I might let it expire because I want a Fairphone instead.

Funner*, but I guess funnier as well, and less road rage.

BUY A BIKE!!!

This bot is annoying.
Is it identical to Tailscale?

No sympathy for modern car buyers. There are almost no limits on size at the moment. Things have gone way out of reasonable limits. We need to strike down vehicle size limits by a huge amount.
To elaborate on the no sympathy part, most new vehicle on the road are oversized. For example, SUV death wagons, and the odd clown truck bringing their 6 wheeler for a lettuce and bread trip to whatever other spot dealing with their misery.

I’m liking seeing both these opinions side by side. Both sound great.
Someone wants to spoon feed me curl commands, like thanks :-)
Someone wants to spoon me a UI which I can’t curl, thanks eh :-)
This is interesting. I’m excited to hear more about NetBird.
if you’re only hosting Immich for yourself, it might be better to look into setting up internal VPN only access to it for remote connection.

That’s a tough situation. I understand 100% your struggles, and none are your fault at all. It’s beautiful you at least tried. Good job on that! Hopefully conditions are more favourable in the future.
I’m hoping with enough e-bikers, the demand for oil and large vehicles will go down, and thus bring down the cost of them both – and also improve the environment, peoples health, and happiness.
Besides sometimes dealing with the occasional brain rot folks on public forums (which is weird, especially for Lemmy), there is every reason to be optimistic and supportive about adoption where it makes sense.

Killer57 doesn’t get it. Not everyone will be able to use a bike, but many people can and should. And we should be encouraging the people who can. I bike during the winter with mountain bike like tires, and I’m fine. Of course the same cannot be said for everyone. Also winter is only 1 of the 4 seasons, and there are more bike destinations than only your job site.

Ok, @Gerudo did not provide a solution to a problem. But instead brought a problem to a solution.
You are currently doing the same. Also 20 miles is 32km.
Both of you, do better.

I mean if you’re able to endure it, then that’s great. Although I’m guessing not seeing how humans love to play weaker than they are, and drive a car or a princess pickup truck every time for their 2km grocery pickup run.

BUY A BIKE

Another reason to get a good bike immediately. And more money to you and less to the oil and automobile industry.
If you’re Canadian, you can get free and cheap .ca domains https://www.cira.ca/en/why-choose-ca/

True, but then on the upside it’s not a Google phone. Which could be more secure from nefarious back doors.
Also there is a part of the Pixel phone which you’re locked from reformating – Is it the bios or bootloader?
Haha. It might be worth looking to see what’s playing at your local venues, and see where they bring you if you simulate buying a ticket.
