It always felt obvious to me that it was a metaphor, I didn’t think I’ve met someone who legit believed boomer shooters were boomer games.
Most boomers, I think, were too old by the time video games were exciting and commonplace to start drawing numerous people so it’s fairly rare for a baby boomer to be a gamer.
Maybe the explosions played a role in the term being used like that but I’m fairly confident age is the primary dimension here.
Heck I’ve seen people use “boomer X” to refer to older-meta versions of decks in magic the gathering. Decks which had zombies not explosives.
People in comments are talking the “boomer cRPG” alias way too literally when it’s just a metaphor for “old school” much like we had for years with unreal and older Dooms being dubbed “boomer shooters”.
Yes boomer is used metaphorically to just mean “old” instead of “made in the 50s-60s or made by someone of that generation”.

The 9070xt is a very fine exception for efficiency really. I was able to cap mine at 230watt with a minor underclock and it barely lost 5% perf compared to stock.
Even base models were clocked way too high, probably to help it ensure vfm victory over NVIDIA midrange in the market when reviewers were looking at it.
The realistic answer IMO is that SSD should be the default with client overrides being available.
Yes consistency is important but if someone wants to do something weird, let them. Open software ecosystems should prioritize flexibility like that.
They have AA off because they recommend upscaling on literally everything. Upscaling sorta acts like AA and they are not used together.

Out of legit curiosity, how many models do you know trained exclusively on public domain data, which are actually useful?
Reading from NTFS is nearly flawless. Writing and actively using it is pretty bad occasionally though, to the point where steam doesn’t support it and recommends against it for game libraries on Linux.
