I think it is really useful to be able to tell that someone has seen a message and recieved the information within, without them having to write a pro forma reply.

This really doesn’t have to be an issue, if your social circle has reasonable expectations and people aren’t insecure enough to guilt trip you because of it.

This is entirely irrelevant to any member of this community that is not a US citizen.

I really like Boxes, but since it can only run VMs in the unprivileged qemu:///session, it simply doesn’t support features like PCI passthrough, autostart or even slightly sophisticated networking setups. :/

Why do you need this? I’m curious because I didn’t even notice Signal had this restriction. To me instant messenges really aren’t something that I’d ever need an archive of.
