Just don’t let your belief cloud your judgement and blind you to real nuance that actually exists. Which this meme is intended to try and convince you to do.

You have to be careful of the memes you consume. The entire point of this meme lies in disputing the existence of nuance, relying on the latter half of the meme to hook people who know not to trust the statements of a fascist/imperialist regime and pit them against the strawman being depicted. It’s like an infection vector for radicalization.
How cute, anti-nuance propaganda. Really shows how progressive Lemmy really is /s

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it normal to see this static when you close your eyes?
0·4 months agoSeconding this. It’s not incredibly common but it’s not incredibly uncommon. Research shows that most people who have it don’t notice it until it’s pointed out. Drugs and stress tend to exacerbate the effect as well.

0·6 months agoSomething basic like the Mass Effect series helps sell the idea that you really did form a fully fledged relationship over the course of the game. As for Cyberpunk, the setting is literally designed to be dripping with sexuality. It’s not necessary for the story itself, but if you removed all the sex ads the setting simply wouldn’t reach the same level of “megacorporations maximizing psychological exploitation techniques”.

My favorite old cookbook is a wine cook book. The author is an obvious and unrepentant alcoholic that perfectly demonstrates the time period it was written in. One of the recipes was literally “melt a bunch of cheese and stir in wine while it cools, then pour the wine cheese into a loaf pan to solidify”, encouraging you to have a glass while you do so.
People were distributing edited versions of the dress image just to fuck with people. I’m convinced that trolling was the root of the entire “debate”.

It makes no such distinction within its own context. You’re relying on your own preconceptions, ones that the meme is trying to erode by excluding. Otherwise it would mention actual nuance instead of mocking the idea of nuance.
