  • Oh, that’s not just a Linux issue sadly. My company uses Dell Laptops with Win11 as development machines and every single coworker has issues with their laptop overheating in their bag if they don’t completely shut it down beforehand (I say completely because if you close it before it’s fully shut down, it will still keep running and overheat, fun!)

  • I’ve been on it for a bit over a year now and honestly, it’s just the new normal. Can’t really say I miss anything, and things like the separate profiles are pretty neat.

Although, I have bricked myself once by enabling developer settings and accidentally changing my language to a dev-only language that made the os crash on boot. But the Graphene Devs fixed it and unbricked my phone within a week after I posted the problem to the forum.

  • The upside to Teams is that you can always claim it’s at fault for your fuckup. It has so many bugs that no one can ever say that something can’t go wrong because of teams.

    • Fell asleep at your desk and didn’t see an important message or call? => “Dang, so sorry, Teams never sent me a notification!”
    • Way too late to a scheduled meeting => “Omg hi, finally! Teams crashed every time I tried to enter the meeting!”
    • Hungover and don’t want to turn on the camera => “I’m sorry, Teams starts stuttering every time I turn on the camera, so I’m keeping it off for now.”
    • Forgot to get back to someone? => “Huh but I wrote you like a week ago… weird, Teams must have swallowed the message”
    • Don’t want to answer a tough question in a meeting? => “Sorry, your audio keeps cutting out for me. Just one moment, let me restart Teams.” pretend to struggle for 20mins and give up without answering the question

  • I’ve been daily driving Bazzite with Gnome too for the last few weeks! It works perfectly fine, but I was weirdly unhappy with the aesthetic of it, despite knowing for a fact that I love Gnome, especially the bare-bones Gnome that CachyOS has.
I only found out about Gnome extensions a few days ago while trying to get rid of the ugly Bazzite Logo in my top bar. It’s probably super obvious to anyone else, but those extensions make such a huge difference and playing around with different ones is absolutely worth it!
OP, if you do end up going with Bazzite, go to the “Extension Manager” and toggle a few of those on or off to see the difference! Getting new ones is super easy too!

That is sad. Openly showing trust to the people around you (even if you have to take the first step and give someone the benefit of the doubt) creates the safest, most pleasant communities. Plus it’s just a massive hassle and mental strain to distrust everyone all the time.

That seems kind of like the standard procedure around here (Germany) too. When you sell something online, the expectation is always that the buyer comes to the sellers house to pick up the item. I’ve never seen anyone do that “let’s meet at this random parking lot” thing americans tend to do.
