One of my coworkers actually is former TSA that left after the last shutdown.
She was looking for a job longer than the shutdown was happening. The job market is rough and I genuinely can’t blame someone for sticking to something where they know they will at least be paid at the end of it as compared to job hunting where it can take months.

I regret to inform you that anyone trying to convince you they aren’t political in journalism is being dishonest to you. See the NYT for where it leads.

Heavens gate still has a sick website.

Doesn’t he literally owe them 1 billion dollars or did that change without me knowing. I didn’t really keep up after the weird shit that happened with the auction.

Not planned by americans. They just let it happen. It’s easier to hide behind “beuracratic incompetence” than actually killing thousands of people without having any whistleblowers.

Only if you want to keep them alive.

UBI is the obvious solution to this and study after srudy has proven its efficacy.

Genuinely asking. Is this sarcasm?

And that’s only kinda true. You have to prove that the order had no way of being lawful basically.

And living in a bunker I guess. Even leaving out the areseneals both sides would have in a civil war 2 the world wide economy would collapse rapidly.

Was too much for the admins apparently. I’m pretty sure .ee was one of the few that was actually in the green month to month for server costs/donations. Basically said “too much for the admins to handle were shutting down next month”. One of the bad things about running an instance like .ee is that you’re going to see some fucked up shit.

God I miss .ee.

You shouldn’t have to read the manual to not fucking die in a car fire. This isn’t like some secret mode to let you change what noise the horn makes. This has literally killed people.

Poor people deserve to suffer, is an opinion far too many people hold.

What false positives do you think that an AI would alert for that a human wouldn’t also have to investigate just at a slightly later time because symptoms keep trending in a direction. A nuclear reactor is an incredibly consistent system if something is giving you a “false positive” there’s a solid chance something is still wrong.

Hot take I know. I’m not talking about LLMs obviously but AI could absolutely be implemented to reduce risk in a nuclear plant. Having a constant double check running for every decision could reduce the risk of a tired human pressing the wrong button and leading to a SCRAM at the very least.

I don’t understand how you basically have people spen their entire lives dedicated to something and think them leaving ever will be an option in their brains. If id dedicated my life to maintaining an area and effectively everyone I knew was in that place I’d also want to stay there until I die.

I would say never because we already solved the problem that lead in gasoline was for but we also don’t need all the coal plants trump is forcing to stay open so…
What does ihra mean in this context. I looked it up and can’t figure it out.
