  • Some folks just don’t get that not everyone loves guns or wants to have them around. When we visited my in-laws, my partner’s dad tried to insist he bring home his childhood guns. We lived in Massachusetts at the time, a state notorious for not handing gun permits out willy-nilly, and neither of us had a permit. Dad was like “just keep in in your car, it’ll be fine”. We drove a hatchback, we didn’t even have a locking trunk, much less a gun safe.

We did not go home with any guns on that visit.

Partner’s next visit, partner flew and his dad tried to give him guns again. Still no gun permit. Yeah, let’s fly through Logan airport with a gun in carry-on luggage. Never mind partner was flying to a third state prior to heading back to Massachusetts. Just nuts.

  • I love mine. They’re also autistic, have dogs, and call me out when I try and change the subject off of something difficult. At first I worried that meeting over video call would affect how body language is read, but, no, seems to work fine.

My first therapist was also great and had a dog. Maybe that’s the rule?

Oh, and fuck health insurance sideways. They’re consistently at least 6 months behind in reimbursing me for seeing an out-of-network therapist.

  • The creator is active on a professional slack I’m on and they’re lovely and receptive to user feedback. Their tool is very popular in the online archives/cultural heritage scene (we combine small budgets and juicy, juicy data).

My site has enabled js-free screening when the site load is low, under the theory that if the site load is too high then no one’s getting in anyway.
