OSS Document scan is what I mainly use

It might be fine for the moment but if the relationship stays long term it will be hard when one partner starts to like age and degrade a lot quicker than the other. In the end one might be ill and on the way to death while the other one has quite a bit of time ahead of them. I think that can strain a relationship in the long run

Do you know how common it is in the US for people to just like… leave it? In germany theres the advantage that people have gotten accustomed to putting it back through the coin lock mechanism even if oftentimes the cart they use is now not locked. The problem is if strong factions arise where it will be hard for the rest of the public to sanction someone breaking rules. If it becomes more convenient to ignore then to enforce such a decentralized enforcement won’t be effective
They do seem to have options to mitigate these privacy concerns, I just checked. I personally have chosen to try to limit my usage of american services and even if they align with me this is also a reason I don’t use it. I’m european so Qwant is like building a new european search index. This was also pretty important since from a political perspective european tech sovereignity is important to me. If I was american myself I would’ve maybe kept using it tho.
Honestly I liked it when I used it. But for privacy (and since I prefer european based providers) I choose a free provider and went with Qwant in the end. I think you should go for it and try it. I don’t think they necessarily track their users, but I prefer not having my searches attached to an account. They do seem to have options to mitigate that. But then there’s the issue of who enforces the rules

I wish there was more like pragmatic political action taking than just violence mongering on lemmy, but thats just me

Sorry OP that you’re getting downvote bombed. This is actually really neat. People go nuts when they hear AI but this is fully local so I think this reaction is unjust. This has nothing to do with ram prices since that stems from data centers or corpos pushing AI on you. Thank you for sharing

Damn which one is this? The one in the middle? If so thats quite recent bc I follow his content and his pc build is pretty new. Crazy conspiracy theory nutjob content in there. Its a pretty huge red flag since it aligns with the patterns in his edgy phase (during which I didn’t actively follow him). Makes me sad to think I might have had a lot better image of him as a person in my head as what he really is. Thank you for informing me. I mean technically he could just be curious in obscene conspiracy theorists. Like people can read religious text while being atheist or read Mein Kampf as a historic artifact. This book does seem more fringe tho. As long as he is not promoting this kind of belief. Makes me think if all this together makes a different light of him tho. Maybe he owns the book from back then and didn’t throw it out. But he moved from the Uk to Japan so I still wonder why he would’ve kept it.

Yeah like how many years ago was that? Lets just believe people can’t better themselves and hold things against them forever. What an awful reality that would be

This… is fucking amazing

You might have significantly reduced risk but don’t think you’re safe and get complacent just bc you’re on Linux

Yeah sure, because everyone would’ve bought the content otherwise…

It would be such a power move and its definitely being considered but I don’t see Europe actually going through with this unless Trump like actually invades Greenland or escalates further on different levels. First the agreement from the eu parliament is void, then counter tariffs, then comes the “trade bazooka” how they call it in Brussels and only in the very end would bonds be touched.

That’s actually a cool thing. Never knew this existed. My comment was definitely a bit salty looking back. It’s just I didn’t find any humor in the post and found this type of post to appear often. Good to know tho, I’ll look into it since I’m curious what other type of comments they ban. Still bigotry is a weird claim, since they can’t seem to tolerate my opinion. Although that brings up the whole tolerating intolerance topic. I don’t think I was being intolerant personally. I just didn’t find the satire in the meme.

I agree with you and think if an instance communicates clearly what they are and what they want then I have no problem.
BTW how do you no the reason why I’m supposedly banned when I don’t even know that.

Its just that ml mentions itself being a general lemmy instance. Their description on join-lemmy.org is “A community of privacy and FOSS enthusiasts, run by Lemmy’s developers”. I’m a FOSS and privacy enthusiast who likes Lemmy. I just happen to not like communism agenda pushed when I scroll through some memes. I definitely wouldn’t say I’m some uncivil person. Sucks for me that ml is the second largest instance and they have the biggest memes community.

Wait I checked and now im just banned from !memes@lemmy.ml but not from lemmy.ml as a whole. My comment wasn’t low effort tho. I was just mentioning how I dislike communist violent revolution fantasy getting posted over and over as “memes” when they aren’t ironic or satirical.
I’ve thought about how cool it would be if a project like this exited for a while. I will definitely have to try it out soon seeing this! To be able to mix and match not only from closet but in an app because going through clothing combinations and scurrying through drawers can be annoying.
