I genuine hope I’m being overly pessimistic. But in a situation like this, nobody should plan for some deus ex machine bullshit to swoop in and make everything all better. We’re very far down a road that we cannot go back up. This will take a generation to revert and restore, at least. Likely several.
It’s never happened yet, but any day now the US military is going to become ethical and do the right thing instead of following orders.
