I was VERY skeptical of watching this video when it was suggested to me, is it worth watching bc I absolutely will if it’s even slightly more based than expected. I was anticipating stuff like “actually he didn’t give a shit about communism, he was a sTaLiniSt” but lmk if it’s actually cool. After reading Anarchism or Socialism, I have ZERO patience for anyone disrespecting Stalin.
Aside from the occasional don’t-get-me-wrong disclaimer like “I’m sure Stalin was not a great guy” or “I’m sure Stalin did bad things”, I find the rest of it to be an impressive questioning of the Western propaganda narrative for someone who is not a marxist. For us, there’s nothing really new in the video. It’s just satisfying to see someone escape the bubble of lies with nothing else but logic and skepticism.

I think the video is deceivingly positive but this guy seems to me like either a fascist or a right deviationist of sorts.
The problem with this is the pattern. The alt right in germany is also strictly going the anti imperialist route and since the left is simping the usa, the alt right gets huge influx.
If you confront leftists about it, they are totally brainwashed by western media.
And I think that is the problem. The right being a pro capital movement in its core, they are trying to play all sides to come out on top.
We need a better communist pipeline. This is not going to work imo. Same with the “maga communists”. They are what happens when there is no stringent leftist movement and the only " left" is pro imperialist soc dems.
I’m not doubting you, just a bit confused. Can you expand on what you mean when you say the left (presumably in Germany) are “simping the USA”? I ask specifically because as dumb as it sounds, I, an American, love keeping up with German leftist politics and all the crazy drama that surrounds it

Germany has quite a long history of bad decisions and being one of the core profiteurs of western imperialism, it is a bonafide imperial vassal state.
Due to this and the history of the third reich, german media is 90% propaganda with a couple true stories and a lot of nothing burger “criticism” of the western core values to appear “non authoritarian”.
Being a liberal extremist state, german values put “freedumb” above all else, especially public health and housing.

What this does is create a toxic sub reality. A left that developes in there is very different from what we on this server see as “left”.
Most people are either socialized into a right wing mindset (workers) or a left lib mindset (white collar, privileged students).
Both are actually right wingers as they still oppress minorities. Either they oppress “stupid people” or put all men into one basket, etc.
Its like blue haired screaming activists hating on “the orc” or push against the bds movement (which germans in 'leftist" circles associate with nazis) etc.
They hate china and dprk with a vengeance and will personally attack you if you so much as keep quiet while they push casual racism.
I left a group after they publicly crucified a guy who pushed the group for years. I asked for evidence for his alleged misdeeds and was called a mysoginist agent.
Thats the state of the german left.
