Republican states have been the real welfare queens all along.
Daaaaaaaaayyum they got ripped!
Oh look, the “you can’t take from the rich, that’s redistribution of wealth and communist!” people are wanting to take from the wealthier states and redistribute wealth.
I sometimes wonder if the people who reflexively whine about literally everything an elected Democrat says actually believe their own crap, or just don’t ever want to win an election.
Democrats really haven’t earned uncritical first reactions. Positive actions have been an exception not the rule.
Is it not positive to criticize the government for blocking funding to his political opponents?
I guess it depends.
I think many of them are tankies who care more about Democrats losing than about the awful shit the Republicans are actively doing
You have to wonder if they genuinely believe their accelerationist bullshit or if they’ve just gotten so into the habit of doing it they don’t really have a goal anymore.
I sometimes wonder if the people who reflexively defend literally everything an elected Democrat says actually believe their own crap, or just don’t ever want to win an election.
Elections won by Democrats in the United States: Thousands
Elections won by Socialists in United States: Twelve
Keep treating your politicians like gods who cant be questioned and see how many new people want to join your side
While true, you’re basically toeing the right-wing line that socialism is bad and we should all look out for ourselves. I don’t mind FL getting more emergency assistance than I do being way inland. I only mind that I seem to be paying more into it than Bezos or Musk do.
They can’t have it both ways imo. If they’re reaping the benefits of it, then they should acknowledge it’s good and should be in place. That’s blatantly not the case though.
I personally would prefer if we continue to support these people since plenty of the people living in those states are not voting against their own self-interest. Imo, caring people living in the deep red or deep blue states should move to more purple districts in purple states to help move the country as a whole to be more caring politically.
I think blue states should also move to implement more safety nets on their own instead of waiting for a blue supermajority federally. If people see how their state and local government can work for them, they’d be more likely to want those policies in their own states. States by that same token should be willing to go into debt to fund long running infrastructure and policies that will be value adds to the state and residents living there.
Socialism isn’t the same thing as collectivism or the government doing stuff.
I don’t think that’s what they are implying just stating that is how it’s being presented to a certain electoral demographic.
Hakeem Jeffries is a large part of the problem.
Like, in general he’s part of the problem, but specifically trump being in office; Jeffries was one of the ones hiding how bad Biden was and trying to shove him down America’s throats.
And he’s desperate for everyone to forget how much he fucked up:
“You interacted with President Biden during those days, those final days he was president of the United States. Did you see, did you sense there was a major deterioration?” Blitzer followed up.
“Well, in the conversations that I was able to have on behalf of the House Democratic Caucus in those final days, we simply expressed our perspective as to what would be best for the party at that given moment in time. President Biden subsequently made the decision that he was going to pass the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris. Of course, that was a decision that we supported strongly,” replied Jeffries.
Days before tell all books started dropping, he’s still pretending Biden was the right choice up to the second he dropped out.
Neoliberals will never admit their own failings.
Check out the swamp trash that pops out of /r/conservative every now and then.
Why would anyone do that?
You don’t start rebuilding the neighbors burnt down house while yours is actively burning down.
That just results in none of us having a house…

Hey remember that time Joe Biden, chair of the judiciary committee bent over backwards to protect Clarence Thomas when Thomas was accused of inappropriate sexual absences?
inappropriate sexual absences
I had to look this up.
Inappropriate Sexual Absences: A term referring to the failure of an individual to be present in a context where their participation in romantic or intimate interactions is reasonably expected, resulting in potential emotional distress or misunderstanding among involved parties. Such absences may arise from a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to, willful neglect, avoidance of relational obligations, or the pursuit of extraneous activities that detract from the fulfillment of intimate commitments. This term may encompass both the intentional and unintentional nature of the absence, and its implications may vary based on the established expectations of the relationship in question.
I…
Goddamnit.
I think the important part was when he gave a half hearted apology in 2020, Hill said it wasn’t enough. And then he just still to this fucking day says it was enough and refuses to actually apologize.
Biden has always thought he was the smartest guy in the room, even back in law school when he was plagiarizing everything to barely pass.
That’s not a trait we want in a leader
Neoliberals will never admit their own failing
What is worse is they can’t let anyone else evolve (unless it is towards fascism) either or they start to panic just like Republicans.
Dems literally only talk about tax deductions for rich fucks that will absolutely not help anyone else. It’s absurd in the comical sense.
A wonderful essay that has since gone offline: fuckthesouth.com

It’s only gotten worse since
This dude fucking sucks and doesn’t understand the purpose of the 2nd amendment. Stopped reading there.
Someone cares too much about an amendment that truly doesn’t apply anymore. If the government decides to come for you, you’re not gonna be able to stop them. This is why we need to rewrite our constitution to reflect modern life, like other civilized states have done in Europe. Write it with privacy in mind in a digital age. Make food and shelter a human right. Oh well, can’t get anything done because we only have two parties.
This feels so satisfying to read now that FEMA won’t do much in the South. Will it fuck blue states over too? Yeah, but at least we have some money to fix it ourselves and have a better sense of community to help others.
That’s not how money works.
Putting that aside this is not that far removed from “useless eaters” fascist rhetoric. It’s the same shit as Republicans accusing poor people of using up the “taxpayer money of hard working Americans” by using more in public services than they contribute in taxes.
In summary, fuck off with this shit.
Yeah, I’m all for reminding Red States that they are dependent on Blue states when they talk about secession (cuz FAFO), but this is not an imbalance that needs fixed. Like individual costs can be wasteful spending, but wealthier states taking care of poorer states or safer state paying for disaster relief in more vulnerable states is just good sense and how a unified nation should be. It’s the same reason wealthy individuals should be more responsible for taking care of the less wealthy or poor individuals too. This is not a game of “fuck you, got mine.” We should not be encouraging the hoarding of wealth when others are in need, whether individuals or states. There are plenty of reasons to be angry with red states, but their geography or poverty (the actual poverty itself, not the policies that contribute to it) are not those reasons.
Chicago people always say this shit then go to college at UIUC, one of the top universities in the country. Then also benefit the most from funding schools with property taxes and having a state flat tax.
So we’re not going to be lectured by people who are actually in what has sometimes been referred to as taker states, who actually receive more money every year from the federal government. Than they send in terms of taxpayer dollars as to what is fair and what is right.
It’s actually not fair that you have many states in this country who subsidize other states. New York subsidizes other states, and so to provide some measure of relief through the state and local tax deduction, I think is a modest step toward balancing the revenues that come in and the revenues that come out.
The people of New York are fine with continuing to be a donor state, but it is unfair to cap the state and local tax deduction at $10,000. And if my Republican colleagues were really interested in providing relief to middle-class taxpayers that they represent, then they would simply say and make clear that this budget should remain silent on the state and local tax deduction because by doing nothing, the cap disappears effective December 31st of this year.
Wait, is congress trying to dictate state and local tax policy? Why? And how would that be allowed. They have power over federal taxes and interstate commerce, not internal tax policies for each state.

It’s just this. Not anything to do with how local taxes work.
Ah, it is a deduction on federal tax based on paid state and local tax. That makes more sense.
This clown is in politics and he want’s to talk about what’s “not fair.”
I’m so glad someone is standing up for us, surely we are all safe from totalitarian rule now that red states have been RiPpEd
RIP THEM! RIP THEM SO HARD.
