It’s ironic that you accuse me of accelerationism, while you argue for a vote blue no matter who. Do you even know what accelerationism means? I do not advocate for democrats to lose the election, i advocate in having my votes be conditional to the furtherance of interests. The Democratic Party is the agent here, they are the ones who use accelerationist policy in an attempt get people to vote against their best interests, vote blue no matter who has always been a demand to silence progressive voices to meet right wing ‘centrist’ ‘half way’. My stance literally opposes democrat parties current accelerationism.

Their entire economic platform is a scam—top-down Reaganomics designed to funnel wealth upward under the myth of trickle-down prosperity. They prop up oligarchs while gutting the working class, not out of ignorance, but intent.

Their ‘traditional values’ are a mask for racism, sexism, and authoritarianism. They treat society like a zero-sum game, blocking policies that would uplift everyone—sometimes even when those policies would increase profit—because empowering others threatens their grip on control.

They wield suffering as policy—undermining healthcare, crushing unions, sabotaging public education, and demonizing the poor to maintain wage slavery. They distort religion into a loyalty tool and wrap cruelty in sanctimony.

They claim to champion the myth of the ‘free market’ while enabling monopolies, bailing out legacy industries, and crushing innovation. They undermine democracy, rewrite history, borrow recklessly against the future, and sell out public institutions for short-term gain.

And internationally? They escalate conflict and entrench U.S. hegemony through violence, turning soldiers into pawns, all while claiming patriotism.

There is more i am sure. There is not a single good thing i can think of that would be worth giving to them in principle. Fuck the republicans and those who vote for them

I fail to see how a slap dash ‘AI’ self-fellating video showing something that will never happen and was an attempt at republicans propaganda to its own base changes the needle on the outcome of the genocide in Gaza. What ever fantasies trump or Biden or Harris has over Gaza is irrelevant. The genocide continues unabated, and there is no indication that things would have been any different. That is not a genocide. I mean its evil and we should not stand for it. But lets not be hyperbolic over the term genocide. When we are talking about the genocide in Gaza, we are not being hyperbolic.

When looking over more then just the situation in Gaza, trump is undoubtedly worse then Biden. The issue is that choosing the lesser of two evils has brought us to this point, the only way to pass progressive policies is to use the leverage voters have to force democrats to comply. That means if democrats refuse to accept progressive terms, that republicans will consolidate power, and that would be bad. However, in such a scenario, ours and democrat loss would have been guaranteed regardless of a vocal call to task. The only power the progressive voter has is to leverage their vote against the threat the republicans face, and if you capitulate, then best case scenario is the can gets kicked down the road and the democrats become more right wing.

I mean, the whole point of “he is too old” Is because 80 it’s too old. It is wether or not anyone had secret knowledge of Biden’s decline. It was a correct assessment, and his debate was just validation of what was already known

You do you. Though the platform was never ‘less genocide’ the platform was ‘an unwavering support of our ally in Israel’. It was an assumption that trump would be more genocidal, due to his inherent evil. But as far as i can see, trump so far has not escalated that situation any faster than the previous trajectory.

Seems to me that getting the democrats under control, and answering to progressive voters is the better long term play. Maybe they would actually then run on a no genocide platform. You can’t say ’don’t let perfect be the enemy of good’ when we are not even at neutral yet let alone good.

You make foolish assumptions about me that could be easily disproved by a glance at my history. Democrats do not get to sell out their base just because republicans are more evil. Turns out that the democrats are incapable of dealing with the situation. So before we can work on republicans we have to bring democrats to heel.

Complaining about republicans being stupid or evil is a waste of time because at this point i don’t see any republicans voter being swayed by logic or empathy, or even their own interest. Its a waste of my breath complaining that water is wet.

Its too bad the Democratic party is so full of shit that trying to clean house has put you on the defensive. And you reflexively blame abandoned voters for the parties failings. But the party is too incompetent and an active obstacle in dealing with trump

The Democratic Party lost to Donal trump, this is the second time. Seems to me the democrats need their progressive voters. Best they answer to them.

Democrats really haven’t earned uncritical first reactions. Positive actions have been an exception not the rule.

That was a calculation made by democrat leadership. They banked on further alienating progressives for their donors, and to push for the Republican values they truly want. Every compromise against progressive platforms has been a full rightward tilt. They miscalculated the severity of their abandonment of progressive voters. Arguments to “vote blue no matter who” and “don’t let perfect be the enemy of good” are obfuscating the reality that we are here because of this rightward ratchet. And all progressive promises turn out to be lies convenient during an election. Blaming disenfranchised voters is an attempt to defer blame where Is doesn’t belong to maintain power, and is a losing strategy against republicans.

I have said this elsewhere, but i will not again vote for the Democratic Party until they actually put up progressive candidates. Not pinky swear to pass progressive policy. That means the candidates has to have a provable history of struggling against the Democratic Party to pass progressive policy. There are only two i know of and that’s Bernie Sanders (who is too old for the presidency), and AOC. Else it’s third party until the democrats learn better.

Sadly that choice was made by those in power, and so was the cost. And we are already there when it comes to that harm. Harm mitigation is not helpful if the root causes creating it is not dealt with, its just a losing battle forever. The first step is to regain progressive pressure from the democrats. They must be made to blink, and to that end, this blaming of non voters for the crimes of the Democratic Party must be stopped and dismantled where ever it is found. The sooner the better, The hope is that we get a shift early in order to rally before the next elections. I am doubting democracy will last under a second term but if the democrats field another neocon candidate, the party will fracture.

Sadly i see it as my only legal move. So i am compelled to take it even if risky. Part of that is taking heat off the narrative that non voters are to blame for the democratic loss. Not only that it’s unfair, but it should be socially acceptable the vote in a manner that represents your interests.

I already acknowledge that possibility with that whole ‘cutting my nose off the save my self’ analogy. The problem is i am looking over the long term. What i see is a history of vote blue no matter who being the rallying cry of neocons who are advocating in resisting progressive policy, and promoting historic republicans policies. That under the current leadership we continue to ratchet right. If this pattern persists the situation will get worse. This requires a change as far as i am concerned. So i May conditionally vote Democrat when i find a candidate i can trust, that is a conditional.
