Cuba has no nuclear weapons program and has done absolutely nothing to the United States for decades and the US is still starving them anyway just for being communist.
Mao made that quote in 1946 when nukes were much, much less powerful and numerous then the ones that exist today. What Mao said was true for back then and it’s possible using nukes might ultimately backfire on the US but I think it’s still important to keep sober with reality, nukes are serious business and every country that cares about sovereignty should be seeking them, immediately. If Cuba and Russia were smart Russia would be stationing nuclear missiles in Cuba RIGHT NOW before the fascists yet again take advantage of their opposition hesitating and vacillating against their aggression and fearing/seeking salvation from an international community that does not exist rather then taking concrete action.

I grabbed a 16GB VRAM edition 4060Ti and 48 GB of RAM back in 2024 right before prices exploded and it was one of my best decisions. I have a PS5 but it’s just collecting dust because I’d much rather be able to do everything in one place, not to mention the majority I’m interested in playing are either indie of strategy type games that aren’t on the PS5 anyway. But yeah the current situation sucks, it’s clear big companies are planning to choke people out of PC ownership so they can eventually force people into cloud based computing where they can charge ridiculous subscription fees and leave people completely powerless.
It’s the exact same as what has been happening in the housing market where real estate companies have been buying up homes on mass and forcing people into rentership. Consoles are also being negatively effected because they use same RAM and GPUs that are are being strangled.
It’s mindboggling. Even if China and all those countries are indeed the most capitalist countries in the world, they are not the ones actively engaged in an open global crusade against anything and anyone leftist to the point of invading countries left and right. I’ve head to deal with non-stop bullshit such as Temp agencies outright refusing to even tell you the place you will be working right up until they send you in. Expecting to get benefits anywhere is a joke, the health insurance “benefits” provided in the places I’ve worked were just regular insurance you have to massively pay out of pocket for like any other, yet they still present it as a benefit. I could on and on but yeah.
The funny thing about Europe is that despite their ruling class sharing the same ghoulish values as the US, they might actually be the only ones with egos big enough to put up an actual fight. I’ve been seeing some US/EU discourse where each calls the other entitled and snobbish. Of course, that’s not something I’m going to bet on though.
One of the big flaws I’ve seen for myself with GDP is that is doesn’t account for wealth that is being siphoned out. So, you can have country have a relatively high GDP due to western investors and tourists coming in and driving up spending numbers, while still being dirt poor because all that money being funneled straight back out via trade imbalances, asset takeovers, corruption etc.
China: Economy multiplies several times over with equally colossal leaps in it’s technology and military while Japan’s GDP is lower today then it was in 90s and has fallen off a cliff in innovation and education.
Japan: Guess now is the perfect time to revive Japanese imperialism and the idea of conquering China.

Yes, it would, but the alternative is the US invading and taking over Cuba with minimal consequences. The US government and military establishment have spelled it out in a crystal clear fashion they are on global crusade to purge socialism militarily and they should be taken at their word as much as Hitler should of when he wrote his thoughts about the bolsheviks in Mein Kampf. And it pains me to say it but Nuclear weapons are truly the only viable defense in Cuba’s case. Cuba doesn’t have the robust ballistic missile and drones manufacturing that Iran has and a committed attack by the US would be extremely one sided. We can talk about the Bay of Pigs and Vietnam but the factors aren’t identical. The Bay of Pigs was a suicide incursion done by rabid Gusanos that the US merely supported rather then an actual US military campaign, Vietnam had a steady stream of supplies and support from China and the USSR to keep them fighting into perpetuality. The best leverage Cuba has would be to strike shipping and oil assets in the Gulf but again they lack the missiles and drones to do that like Iran can.
