Jolla has sailfish OS as the official ROM and it has for quite a few years now (for all their past phones). It’s not marketed as a dev experimental.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Under British and UK Legislation anyone using or developing end-to-end encryption is now a “hostile actor”
21·1 month agoSetting a factory in France is a hostile activity too?
I guess using Olvid is terrorism.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Is anyone making a frontend player for the music Anna recently archived from Spotify?
1·2 months agoI haven’t heard them say what format will be included in the torrent, say it’s 20 TB blocks of secured archival format. Then you would have to download that full volume ( at least, there are ways to force you to download the full 15 set of 20 TB archives) before decompressing it and see files as is, that would rendering streaming or casual downloading impossible under current tech.
And that’s ok.
Anna’s archive isn’t there to cater to today’s wants but to protect what might disappear tomorrow.
Find an IR LEd pin broach or sunglasses or this:

Linux@lemmy.ml•What folders do you make in addition to the default ones ?
0·3 months agoSeparate folders in the download one. One for each app. And a separate /home/sync folder with the same app separation folders to safekeep the backups of android apps and DCIM folder.
This is in the US, in a lot of countries, even in EU ones, refusing to reveal your password is used as part of the case against you (not as proof but as a suspicious attitude that can, combined with other facts, bring a certainty of culpability).
So be careful and check out your local laws before following US laws concerning this.

0·7 months agoThat was then, now they are very pro FANGS and removing all barriers because they are afraid of tariffs and want the US to keep selling them weapons for Ukraine.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Anyone have the experience registering a domain name with false personal information?
0·9 months agoUsually, the company you bought the domain from sends a e-mail once a year to ask you to verify the WHOIS information is correct.
It doesn’t go any further than that if your just hosting nextcloud, a DNS, a blog.
If the website is used to break the law, then that email is contacted, if the email is non respondant, the email provider is asked for IP adress at the time of the last connection, if ISP: you get contacted, if VPN provider: IP at plan subscription or last connection etc. until they can reach an ISP. Then you get contacted.

0·9 months ago“Just a tuta email” … Tuta nota is a serious email provider.
Wasn’t a false equivalence. You are twisting shit around to defend yourself in quite a telling way .
Have a great day, and get of screens for a while, it’ll do you good.
Fascists thrive on a fragmented information space. By not verifying your sources, you participate to this fragmentation and therefore the dilution of truth in the sea of lies.
You even use the same line of defense as the trump fans :" I didn’t know it was a joke and immigrants don’t eat pets."
You are part of the pro fascist movement if you spread disinformation, especially on political takes. No matter the side.
There is a location module in microg’s git repository that can work as a standalone (so without the main microg app) to enable other A-GPS sources (quite a few allow on device antenna database storage), you would find them using “NLP” in f-droid.
The problem is when you try to understand the other side, you have to hear them.
There are a quite a few cases with anguished parents trying to move some loved child out of a sect (Scientology, the Family etc.) ending up brainwashed.
Google is starting to use DRM on all it’s videos so that only the official youtube clients on devices and big browser brands can play them. It also kills all the systems like invidious.
Proprietary blobs are also present throughout regular linux distributions. And I hear and participate with the moans they generate but users understand that sometimes modems, wireless chips or GPUs (main culprits) have us stuck at the onset of using Linux at all. Debian had to reverse it’s procedure from a default free only to default mix and user has to specify if he doesn’t want proprietary firmware installed. Even graphene OS has to make do with proprietary firmware.
