Seems to high.
That’s a bit more than the number of people who voted for him. So technically he’s doing better than before he went into office.
33% is still shockingly high
29% of voters voted for him in 2024. It’s literally just his cult supporting him at this point–he’s lost the entire rest of the country. Finally.
33% are plain dumb.
Dumb, Evil, potato, potahto
CRATERS 4%!!!
Well I guess this one is actually a different number, so that’s nice.
1/3 people support the pedophile in chief. Lmao. Let that sink in. “Craters” lol
MAGAs would eat his poo if he told them it was lobster, and accuse us of treason for not eating the “lobster.”
sone of them would forgive him raping their young daughters and say it must have been gods will.
They’d blame the girl for “enticing” these holy Men O’God.
The News:

“Craters”

Journalist looks at a slow genty downward slope…
Looks like your screenshot is a month out of date (arc)
Only 33% of U.S. adults approve of Trump’s overall job performance, down slightly from 38% last month.
Whether a 5% drop is “slightly down” or “cratering” is a pretty subjective thing, but that’s a sharper decline than we have seen previously.
no, it’s the same exact slope, and it’s 0.9% not 5%. it’s a minor error bar on a long downward trajectory. He hasn’t changed trajectory, if you want to say it cratered, you need to something that’s changing the trajectory. less than 1% is just a continued shitty slide.
SHOCK POLL!
Can’t believe it kinda recovered early last summer. Wasn’t that when he was flipflopping on tariffs? The tariffs the gov now needs to pay back after businesses raised prices to compensate for them?
lot of people love what ice is doing and are happy to suffer any minor inconvenience over that, a significant portion of them also like watching the moral outrage from the libs as a bonus
That’s when he was going to send out those tariff checks out of thin air. It worked during Covid so he figured he would try it again.
A shocking number of people are really happy about his immigration policy.
Ah, but you have to zoom all the way in on the very end!
it’s the same 1% drop you see in the rest of the graph. His approval is bad, but that .9% is no crater.
This happened to me yesterday and might help explain why his approval is still so high:
I’m in my 40s, sitting in a waiting room, waiting to consult with a doctor about the ol’ snip-snip. The room is filled with aging boomers and gen-x of all walks of life. I mean, the next youngest patient in this room is probably 20-years my senior. Some random guy down the seat row on the other side of the room is talking to someone, presumably his wife but maybe an older female child, about mutual family and friends and the goings-on. I’m ignoring everything as usual until I hear, ‘I know you don’t like tRump…’ My ears perk up.
He goes on to talk about finding these tRump coins online and inquires into whether some acquaintance of theirs, or their offspring, might like one. I can’t really hear the woman’s response, but she clearly doesn’t want to talk about this now, in this place, and within easy earshot of every soul in the room.
He reiterates that he knows that she doesn’t like tRump, but this is about someone else and if she thinks the coins might make a good gift. I still can’t hear the whole response from the lady, but she mentions the AI Jesus post. Dude seemed clueless as to what she was talking about. He says, ‘no, I hadn’t heard about that’. She goes on to explain how much it upset people and the backpedaling he tried to do to sane face with Christians.
Here’s a dude buying tRump coins as gifts like a dude might buy a sports team’s merchandise, not knowing the shit that’s actively perpetuated by that sports team. It’s clear that most are not on tRump’s Twitter clone for infantile adults, but likely only see the posts that some Facebook groups want them to see. Whatever echo chamber these people are siloed in is going to great lengths to isolate that 33% from the real shit tRump does.
When all you consume is garbage like Fox News and Newsmaxx, you never see like 95% of the shit he does.
…not knowing the shit that’s actively perpetuated by that sports team
I may consider this reasonable if the Doctor Jesus thing was the odd thing the child rapist had done but we are literally talking about 2 scandals per week at minimum. What you saw there is not a man who is out of the loop, what you saw in display was one of the true American values: “willful ignorance”
The MAGA slogan: Don’t bother me with facts, my mind is made up.
like cement: thoroughly mixed and permanently set
I hear you and I want to acknowledge that people are complex and many otherwise good people are caught in these echo chambers doing or supporting bad things.
That said, it’s no fucking excuse to not educate yourself and stay up on the news.
No excuse, but that anger seems to only exacerbate the issue. For what its worth, i think the information age has created a huge curse of knowledge between generations and social economic groups and social media is being weaponized to increase this phenomenon
The “curse of knowledge” is a cognitive bias where experts or informed individuals fail to accurately imagine what it is like not to know something, assuming others share their level of understanding. This leads to poor communication, teaching difficulties, and overestimating others’ knowledge. It differs from the Dunning-Kruger effect, where people with low ability overestimate their competence.
These people barely understand that different news sources exist. They just learn things from “the TV”.
“Social Media? I think my nephew told me about that once in 2014, but I can’t remember what it is.”
it’s no fucking excuse to not educate yourself and stay up on the news.
you mean watch Fox news on the TV?
I have definitely heard the “I know you don’t like tRump…” intro to a statement from his supporters (who happened to be family or friends) at least a few times before. It’s too early for me to analyze the commonality right now.
It’s lampshading to deflect negative reactions.
“I said I know you don’t like him, you don’t need to keep repeating it.”
The only future for the world is the fact that most Boomers will be dead in the next 10 years.
Do the 67% disapprove enough to do something?
It appears that Europe is similar, with 64% disapproval (from Pew, pick your own source).
When will they do something?
(yes, you could list what they have done, and I could list what Americans have done, but let’s pretend up until this point they have all done “nothing”, as you can’t possibly hold the USA to a higher standard than all of Europe without admitting that the USA is more capable than all of Europe)
If EU stopped using the US dollar for trade, for example… that would be very influential, don’t you think? There’s much more the EU and/or NATO could do.
Meanwhile, EU can’t even be bothered to stop buying Russian oil, gas, fertilizers, etc.
(yes, you could list what they have done, and I could list what Americans have done, but let’s pretend up until this point they have all done “nothing”, as you can’t possibly hold the USA to a higher standard than all of Europe without admitting that the USA is more capable than all of Europe)
There’s a couple things I love about this paragraph:
1: “without admitting that the USA is more capable than all of Europe”
We’re literally talking about how 67% of Americans disapprove of their own leader and still can’t escape American exceptionalism2: It quietly implies that Europeans who disapprove of Trump (the leader of a different country) are equally responsible for doing something about it as actual American citizens.
3: it neatly avoids all the facts that Europe has done things that are effective, even if it does not remove Trump from power, while Americans gather at their “we don’t like Trump” conventions once every couple of months where they stay out of the way and don’t cause too much trouble before cleaning up nicely after themselves and getting back to work on Monday.
4: Despite the inescapable American Exceptionalism it is still the fault of everyone else for not cleaning up their mess for them.
It’s not going to get much lower than this. About all that’s left are the total morons that wouldn’t change if Trump himself had a gun to their child’s head, as well as the criminal sociopaths who appreciate the corrupt MAGA environment that makes their occupation so easy and lucrative.
Neither one of those groups is going to abandon MAGA to any great degree. We might get to 30%, or perhaps one or two points lower, but that’s about it.
So work on those people around you who are close to quitting, or have recently quit. We don’t want them going back, or digging in deeper. They are doubting MAGA right now, so show them what’s going on now, while they are slightly receptive.
“I don’t like how he put a gun to my kid’s head, but I do like how he puts guns to the heads of other children.”
Don’t forget:
“I didn’t vote for this!” <Continues to vote for this>
Ready for him to lose midterms, have the Reichstag burn down, and have him declare an emergency.
The last tanker of oil was said to have reached port a couple days ago. Our buffer is gone. Let’s see what happens. Will paper prices meet the real price? What about food prices? Next month should be interesting.
It’s always 30-something percent in support, every poll.
If we somehow survive this, 60%+ of Americans should file a class action lawsuit against Fox News for causing and contributing to such widespread destruction of our democracy.
Media is consolidating into the hands of right wing billionaires, now CBS and CNN are in those same right wing hands. If it keeps goign there wont be any left wing mainstream media.,
This is extremely dangerous to our democracy
We really need a way to hold these people accountable. They know they are manipulating people and lying.
Why would a Dictator care about opinion polls?
Generally speaking, authoritarians want the support of at least a plurality of the citizenship. Even in well established authoritarian regimes, widespread public discontent will lead to regime collapse, even if it’s a military coup that just leads to another authoritarian regime.
Nah. Pretty sure Joe Stalin wasn’t upset about public opinion.
I don’t know what Stalin thought, but I do know that he was able to rule for so long because he was broadly popular throughout the Soviet Union. Also, Victor Orbàn clearly cared about public opinion, as did Ferdinand Marcos, Hosni Mubarak, and Alexander Lukashenko, to name a few.
You can’t control a country where the vast majority of people hate you. Even if the military remains loyal to you (and they won’t), if the majority of people are out in the streets protesting you instead of going to work, your economy will implode, and gunning everyone down won’t help. You need your opposition to be small enough that they seem like a trouble-making minority, while you remain popular enough that most people either support your violent suppression of dissent or at least don’t hate you enough to stick their own necks out.
