When it comes to east Asians it’s basically this scene. They think of all west Asian, Arabic, and north African people as basically terrorists. The only group they might actually think of as different is very light skinned Cubans who don’t speak Spanish.

Indian Americans spent a weirdly long time with so many of them actually believing the model minority shit. There is no model minority. The people who hate Mexicans and Venezuelans hate you too if you’re darker than a german or you speak a non English language.

Like ultimately I can stand with them if they worship the Jesus who welcomed eunuchs and prostitutes, and there’s something positive if they can see the good in socially progressive issues. I’m unlikely to ever like her, but fucking hell I’m sick and tired of this pervasive idea that people can never change for the better and even if they do they’re still evil. It’s carceral bullshit.

She hasn’t demonstrated change yet, just announced her intentions, whether true or not. It’s worth keeping an eye out and seeing if she actually does change. I’m never going to forget who she has been for the past several years, but just as I believe a murderer should be given the opportunity to become a better person I’ll give her the room to do the same or not. It’s not like I have any power over her whatsoever.

Yeah, the apologies are the first step, if she follows through and changes we can decide wgat to do. But as it stands stepping back will at the very least reduce the heat she gets because she only gets it because she’s actively been picking fights

I think it needs to be replaced immediately with something less exploitative a skilled persons visa that’s closer to a green card and requires multiple companies or a union to request skills then a government agency checks if those skills are actually in higher demand then capacity and issues reasonable length visas that merely require regular employment in a certain industry and become a reasonable speed onramp to green card status. Or something similar.

The reality is getting rid of skilled labor visas entirely is shooting ourselves in the foot in a way that reminds me of how much of the Manhattan project’s scientists came from axis nations. What we have now is hurting the visa holders and the labor they compete with, but we really do benefit from being able to bring in the exceptional.

You’ll die for your kid but you won’t volunteer at their school or be a scoutmaster or anything like that? The pro police killing without consequences, the surveillance, the jackbooted thugs arresting immigrants and sending them to a torture camp, the concentration camp for holding the mentally ill and homeless as they’re forced to do labor, the demands for increasing executions including for crimes that have traditionally not been executable offenses, the claiming trans people and drag performers are pedophiles, demonizung their opponents and treating protest as terrorism and rioting… That’s a mishmash of things the right has been doing for the past decade on and off, here and there, drastically accelerating in the past year. But once they have a tool they aren’t afraid to use it on others or expand its use. That’s how SWAT techniques began being used every day on people who may have filled out immigration paperwork a bit wrong.

In nazi Germany the concentration camps were originally created for criminals and political prisoners, jews were to be sent to walled ghettos and deported. Death camps were made for sex criminals such as trans people (they had declared trans people all to be sex criminals). Who they targeted was irrelevant, the goal was always to attack whomever they could use to justify further expansion of party and personal power. Often going above and beyond to impress those above them in the party.

Eventually, yes they will come for you, whoever you are, but by the time they start targeting random groups like Catholic priests, they’ll have already built the full industrial process of oppression.

But this idea originates in one of the most batshit academic texts of the late 20th century: “The Transsexual Empire” by Janice Raymond (former advisor to the US Congress on trans issues). In it among her claims are basically that amab people are better at everything than afab people including being attractive and desirable women. She also believes this to be a problem and proposes more or less the total elimination of trans people from the public sphere. It’s not a fun crazy book, it’s a “I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of hate and will attempt to bring others with me” book.

Like yeah some trans women are really hot, and modeling often prioritizes bodies that have traits we’re more likely to have like prominent faces, abnormal tallness, and an anorexic shape. But firstly, that’s fashion modeling that prefers that body type, and second historically you’ve had to have gone stealth to a degree that’s nearly impossible these days to get one of those jobs while trans.

These people are really uncomfortable with the reality that some trans people look cis (and some cis people routinely get mistaken for trans) and have entered a level of delusion that I honestly struggle to comprehend.

Last I’d heard they were a small faction of right wing conspiracists, who hadn’t even gained much traction in the heyday of qanon, but 53,000 members in one Facebook group is concerning. It getting to the point a fox news host is calling an actor from the office a trans man is concerning as well. The right wing war on consensus reality is unfortunately succeeding quite well.

The Transexual Empire and its consequences have been an unmitigated disaster for the human species.

Roy Cohn repeatedly insisted he wasn’t gay. However he never denied exclusive attraction to men. His denials of homosexuality came with him asserting that homosexuals are weak victims of society, something he refused to be (which is to a certain degree understandable for a gay jew in the 50s). Hell him having a kink for dominating blonde men in that context is bad but like I get it. Evil evil son of a bitch, but he only ever paid for the wrong reasons.

Also Joseph McCarthy was brunette and absolutely dominated by Cohn.
