That’s totally my uber racist white twin brother. Except for the nose. And the face part. And the hair. Oh who am I kidding, that guy looks like me but with the contrast and brightness set to 100%. I’m disappointed at my white self. I always wished I would be a benevolent type of white politician twin guy. And clearly not. But I am way more handsome. OK who am I kidding, I didn’t even shave today. At least I’m just a low level copycat and not evil Steven Colbert speaker. If I was Steven, I wouldn’t even walk outside. That’s how embarrassed I would be of looking like that guy.

I guess it could be worse. You could be minding your own business selling ice cream Popsicles or something in the streets of India and next thing you know your evil twin opens a concentration camp for migrants or something.

It feels like this slogan is only repeated in left spaces, which then feels like a leftist version of centrists throwing trans people under the bus to chase conservatives. The people who are the primary purveyors of petty hate need to be the priority for the message before anyone on the left is going to feel like preaching tolerance for intolerance is anything but a way to smuggle bigotry into left political spaces.

She’s probably a racist piece of shit as well. Like her father is Dinesh D’Souza. She was raised by racist piece of shit. She still married to a racist after experiencing what a racist man looks like for her whole life. She probably thinks the racism and bigotry are good character qualities.

There is nothing wrong with living in a rural area or being a blue collar worker. The last sentence there is unnecessary.

As someone who has been in both those demographics, this guy doesn’t represent me or the hardworking albeit sometimes simple people I grew up around.

Please don’t use those words as a cudgel. It drives those undereducated and uninvolved people to identify more with this asshole than the progressives that have more in common with them beneath the surface.

Only one of those things was said here on this site, in this thread, by a lemming that we can directly criticize.

Shouldn’t the space we occupy and the people we are immediately surrounded with be put above performative anger at external topics?

The politician said terrible things. Posting about it only goes so far.

A lemming said bad things. We can affect that.

So you’re not even acknowledging the full fledged racism that is the topic in this little whataboutism speech you put together there?

Nothing about the racism. Not one word to nod to the overarching story here.

So which part of you missed that? The rural part?

US is currently burning wheat farms cuz the world has shifted off of cheap wheat for something more stable.

And the world knows which ones are the red states and are boycotting.

So You have two choices: take it personally or acknowledge a consequence of ignoring racism and self interest replacing it with apathy and revenge. Just know this: Neither will make a difference in the long run. You’re still headed to the same destination. So even now with at this point you’re begging to ignore it. Noted.

You’re just echoing the overall problem here by not even acknowledging the topic.

It drives those undereducated and uninvolved people to identify more with this asshole

Don’t even pretend you were ever an ally.

When Trump fucks up do you call him a fatty?

When a black judge says women belong in the kitchen do you say “go back to the plantation!”

A woman supports Trump. “Shut up cumdumpster, go make me sandwich if you want to be trad”

That guy brought up something said HERE ON THIS WEBSITE. Someone HERE threw out redneck for living in the sticks. You’re fucking dumb if you think people need to write an essay on what they think of a topic before they can point out issues in discourse.

See that? I don’t need to prove anything to call you out. I don’t need to call out racism to call out dumb posts.

Before you reply, make sure to write an essay about why it’s ok to insult unrelated groups of people in order to hurt an individual. At least follow your own weird rules.

With the whole Glastonbury kerfuffle I’ve come to know more about this band called Bob Vylan. They have this lovely song, and it goes ike this:

I heard you want your country back
    Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
    Uh-uh, you can't have that
    The only place I know
    Stolen right under my nose
    By ignorant scum
Tryna lay claim to a land that ain't theirs anyway
Wait - what did you say?
I heard you want your country back
    Ha! Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
    Uh-uh, you can't have that
I heard you want your country back
    Ha! Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
    Well shit, me too

Tim Walz said it was his stance during the debates, live on CNN.

MB: Thank you, Norah. Earlier today, Iran launched its largest attack yet on Israel. But that attack failed thanks to joint U.S. and Israeli defensive action. President Biden has deployed more than 40,000 U.S. military personnel and assets to that region over the past year to try to prevent a regional war. Iran is weakened, but the U.S. still considers it the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, and it has drastically reduced the time it would take to develop a nuclear weapon. It is down now to one or two weeks time. Governor Walz, if you are the final voice in the situation room, would you support or oppose a preemptive strike by Israel on Iran? You have two minutes.

TW: Well, thank you. And thank you for those joining at home tonight. Let’s keep in mind where this started. October 7th, Hamas terrorists massacred over 1400 Israelis and took prisoners. Iran, or, Israel’s ability to be able to defend itself is absolutely fundamental, getting its hostages back, fundamental, and ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. But the expansion of Israel and its proxies is an absolute, fundamental necessity for the United States to have the steady leadership there. You saw it experienced today, where, along with our Israeli partners and our coalition, able to stop the incoming attack. But what’s fundamental here is that steady leadership is going to matter. It’s clear. And the world saw it on that debate stage a few weeks ago. A nearly 80 year old Donald Trump talking about crowd sizes is not what we need in this moment. But it’s not just that. It’s those that were closest to Donald Trump that understand how dangerous he is when the world is this dangerous. His Chief of Staff, John Kelly, said that he was the most flawed humanity being he’d ever met. And both of his Secretaries of Defense and his national security advisors said he should be nowhere near the White House. Now, the person closest to them, to Donald Trump, said he’s unfit for the highest office. That was Senator Vance. What we’ve seen out of Vice President Harris is we’ve seen steady leadership. We’ve seen a calmness that is able to be able to draw on the coalitions, to bring them together, understanding that our allies matter. When our allies see Donald Trump turn towards Vladimir Putin, turn towards North Korea, when we start to see that type of fickleness around holding the coalitions together, we will stay committed. And as the Vice President said today, is we will protect our forces and our allied forces, and there will be consequences.

Now don’t get me wrong, I voted for him as Harris’ VP and I would do it again, but I do not like him and I would not be happy if he runs again.

So your quoting something that was clearly misspoken as why you dislike him so greatly. The sentence makes no sense as many pointed out on every news station at the time saying he misspoke.

If it wasn’t two sentences garbled together like everyone assumed, who exactly are Israel proxies that he wants to expand? It very clearly was meant to be something along the line of Iran and it’s proxies (referring to the actual subject of the conversation, Hezbollah) are expanding. Hezbollah “expanding” at the time was considered a big threat because the U.S. was dumping shit tons of cash to stop the attacks on ships instead of telling Israel we would sanction them and cut all further support unless they withdrew from Gaza and called an immediate permanent ceasefire. (Which is why Hezbollah was shooting at ships).

Biden should have made an executive order to do so and demanded the sanctions be placed. (which Congress would have said no too, but if the president bluffed, we don’t know if Israel would have stopped or been certain they could wait for Congress to say no).

The term is pretty racist itself, since it was created to refer to tertiary countryies in the Cold War, but soon came to simultaneously suggest those countries were lesser. Calling a failing state “3rd world” just further perpetuates that.

The majority of those countries were robbed by first world countries for centuries so anyone using the phrase without any moral reflection is intentionally not looking at the whole picture.
