Cool. Let the douches be split between who is more “maga” (baby talk) than the other and split all the worst people into an ineffective nothingburger when it comes to the ballot box.

I’m so tired of the various factions of the left pitting themselves against each other (and letting elitists/Russian and Chinese troll farms do this to them, too).

About time to have some extreme division on the wingnuts.

Honestly, I am tentatively very excited about this. Not because I support that nazi in any way whatsoever. I am excited because he stands to be a significant spoiler for the GOPs elections.

I highly doubt it. GOP is a person cult centred around Trump. They liked Musk as long as Trump liked him, but they all hate him now.

Do they even really like him? I thought pretty much any Republican support for Elon came from his support/association with Trump

I’m a secret leftist amongst a bunch of low information MAGA voters (the ones that voted for Trump more because they’re stupid and easily duped than being giant racists) in a few different circles. All they know is I own guns and answer “oh fuck no” when asked if I’m a liberal, so they assume I’m a non-MAGA conservative*. Hehehe.

Without exception, they adore Elno. They don’t realize it but they’re prosperity gospel types (because stupid), so they assume he must be a good and intelligent guy, otherwise Jebus wouldn’t have made him successful.

*Side note: I have one all hot and bothered about seizing the means of production, just using different terms.

on one hand, harder to defeat them in a vote because they’d be way more visibly in touch with the incel crackhead core of their voting block. on the other, dude is at least environmentally concerned enough to try avoiding climate and technology crisis as long as the solution benefits/involves him. which is a low fucking bar but still an improvement.

Yup. At best, this is an attempt at spoiling republican votes to piss off Donald in the midterms. At worst, it’s an attempt to consolidate power by ensuring all of the followers are united.

This is the wildest take I’ve seen so far.

It would split the vote amongst the least same, and consolidate the vote for Dems.

What’s the upside for Musk here?

The chances that a real Elon party signifigantly stealing votes from the Republicans to the point it causes an actual vote split is basically nil. The voter base is stupid, but not so stupid to hand a brand new party anything out of the gate.

Now, controlled opposition, is a foundation of the farce that is Russian democracy, and both DT and Elon are staunch admirers of Putin’s system where its a mob masquerading as a government with total control

Maybe when this fizzles out we can get bipartisan support to change our First Past the Post voting system.

This will ultimately fail until that changes.

While on one hand I hope that people realize this is literally their government being purchased by a single rich guy and push back… I know they’re far too stupid for that.

I’ve got bad news for you, our government is already owned by the rich. Every government is. That’s the whole point of having a government, it’s how the rich control others.

The most powerful in every society are the ones with the most resources and they’ve always been the ones with the free time to operate a government, which they use to pursue and secure their interests.

As far back as we have written and archaeological evidence of heirarchical institutions existing, they have been controlled by and on behalf of the rich and powerful.

It’s just what the evidence from pre-history through history supports.

The rich are the government - from local ‘big men’ style rulers, councils of nobles, mercantile empires from Assyria to the US, to local governments that serve property developers.

The history of the state is the rich working out ever more sophisticated ways of getting what they want without revolt.

Let’s split that vote. Let them battle it out to get the deplorable vote and let normal Americans run this place again, FFS.

What kind of shitty click bait is this?

The richest man in the world officially announced on Saturday that he has officially formed a new political party to challenge Republicans and Democrats alike.

He fucking tweeted that it was created, literally nothing official.

And when the president tweets it’s for some reason official and should be followed… We live in a really stupid age where the government and politics in the US is governed by social media.

All it takes is for one determined furry to pull up their programming socks and hack into Truth Social and start posting under Trump’s name and we’ll see that dry up real quick, unless he wants to make all his official announcements surrounded by uwu’s and lewd pictures of Pokémon.

Dollars to donuts it’s going to be stupid easy to do as well, because Trump is incapable of hiring competent employees or of paying whoever he does hire.
