A Qatari base on US soil? Wtfbbq
Turns out that plane wasn’t free.
What the absolute fuck???
I had to check that the wasn’t The Onion. smh
That 747 is getting amazing ROI
Seriously. What a relatively small price to pay for the stupid amount of political capital it’s gotten them.
Why in the world are you guys assuming that’s the only bribe they’ve gotten?
You right, I said that
?
I think there may be a little bit more to the relationship between the USA and its protectorates than bribery, if you’ve got the time to listen.
Hell, if anything it saves them on not having to maintain a 747
Especially with the 747 being officially out of manufacturing in 2023. Parts prices and specialized technician costs are just going to go up more and more every year.
If a 747 gets me Idaho, what do I need to upgrade to a Dakota? What about Texas?

Trust me, as someone who lived in both Dakotas, Idaho is definitely the upgrade.
Try letting a tree fall on you. Make sure you sue the ever living shit out of whoever owns that tree.
Oh, and then make sure that once you have the power to do so, you pass a law that prevents anyone else from suing the way you did.
(Greg Abbot did this, he’s the governor of Texas)
Quid pro quo.
They know Qataris are Muslim, right?
Muslims with lots of money.
That makes them effectively white
America FIRST! I’m GLAD we’re NOT paying our Military right now so we can INSTEAD do This!
Wow. RepubliQans you just keep getting prouder don’t ya.
Are we “great” again yet?
Wonder if they’ll deport the Qataris when the building is finished
While I don’t get this administration’s love for the Qataris it would be nice to have more foreign militaries on US bases, it will benefit the training for both nations
All us administrations loves Qatar
Not to this point.
If the US is going to continue meddling in the Middle East we need allies however tenuous that aren’t Israel.
I hope they keep their immigration documents updated otherwise someone’s gonna call in an anonymous ICE tip.
Make absolutely no fucking sense.
Have a foreign military on U.S. soil to do things to the U.S. population that the U.S. military might not.
Looks like it’s just to train Qatari pilots without putting the hardware too close to Yemeni drones or Saudi missiles.
Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up training the next crop of 9/11 hijackers by the end.
Axis Powers of Evil #1
Even when you include the bribery it still doesn’t seem to make sense.
Rural Idaho is sure to love their new neighbors. Hope they keep their I Voted for This flags high.
Are those flags real, by the way? I saw some trolling with similar sentiment, but I wonder how many would be bold enough to put those up IRL?
They definitely exist, but rare in my personal experience. There’s a large house near me surrounded by high, castle-style walls. Along the wall facing the street they have multiple flag posts displaying an american flag, a trump flag, a gadsden flag, and a “Yes I voted for this!” trump-like design flag. They used to rotate the flags with POW/MIA, Blue Line and others but it’s been pretty unchanged since inauguration.
I’ve also seen a smaller banner flying from a cybertruck, once.
Oh yeah, that tracks. Along with the cybertruck.
r/Conservative unironically thinks it’s great, so they probably do too.
Fox told them it was, after all. We have always been at war with Eastasia.
How can anyone know what that place thinks when every thread is a graveyard? I can’t take 30 remaining comments of 600 deleted seriously lol
True lol
Their ‘free speech’ seems to mean ‘freedom for me to be a bootlicking asshole and for the rest of you to shut up’
I mean, rural Idaho is basically Qatar already. It’s just a christ-o-fascist tax haven for businesses hiding under a flag.
Wait till they start building a mosque for the soldiers, im sure Idaho republicans will love that
If Fox News isn’t shitting on it, they won’t bat an eye. All sheep, no brains.
I noticed every day there are less and less of those stupid flags up when I drive through rural areas
Granted, mountain home AFB is outside Boise which is the bluest portion of Idaho, but I hear ya.
I had to check that the wasn’t The Onion. smh
