Sadly, there is an ever-ending shit-shoot of potential other candidates to follow. They won’t have to capture his audience or be as “charismatic” as he is. As things fall apart and degrade. They will just crack down as authoritarians do. On innocent people of every stripe.

Oof yeah thats an old man who’s unlikely to make enough of a recovery to be doing speeches for a living again. Didn’t see if it’s full body sagittal droop or just facial. Former says stroke, latter says palsy. Like neither is good for him but palsy is manageable, stroke in a 79 year old is entirely likely to be the beginning of the end.

You can see in the clip he checks his left hand with a lift but can’t match it with his right hand. Similarly, he conspicuously doesn’t move his right hand in his most recent recorded speech.

Latter can also say stroke, just localized to the area of the brain that controls the facial nerve.

My hope is that something blows out in his brainstem. If he survives it, there’s no way he’d be able to hide the effects of that.

JFC that’s not a little bit of a droop. That’s almost definitely signs of a stroke. A guy I knew at work looked exactly the same after his stroke. Trump looked relatively normal at the u.s. open a few days ago and you’d think after a stroke he’d at least take a week or two off given his advanced age and “robust” health. Maybe it’s bell’s palsy or someone smacked him upside the head with a frying pan?

Edit: Also this article seems a little on the nose.

He can’t take time off. He believes it’ll make him look “weak” and he’ll lose control of the narrative.

And deliciously, him trying to push through and play strong man will kill him even quicker. I seriously wonder if he’s starting to question his mortality or is just completely ignorant.

He disappeared for Labor Day weekend. Like all of it. Not a normal Trump weekend at all. The first interview afterwards was a private interview with a right wing outlet.

Then the AI facepaint video about Kirk.

The only thing that doesn’t fit with the coverup is the taking in front of Marine 1 if I have the timeline right.

On Sept. 11, 2025, people assumed that the Pentagon’s memorial ceremony marking the victims of 9/11 would be a somber, typical occasion.

Are these people unaware of who is president?

I doubt it, but she’s definitely going to try. So will every other MAGA with a reputation, include media types.

MAGA is a cult of personality, and once Trump assumes room temperature, so will MAGA. But they won’t want to let it go, so Don Jr, Vance, Hegseth, Bondi, Rubio, Patel, Empty G, Boobert, Loomer, Hawley, Johnson, Cotton, DeSatan, etc. will all be stabbing each other in the back.

It will be ferocious and endlessly entertaining.

The question is whether or not the base will follow. Trump may have been a singular phenomenon.

He absolutely had a stroke. His bruised hand is probably from being hooked ip to an IV and being really, really old. The side effects are confusion, trouble being coherent, and other mental problems he already had so at least those won’t be as noticeable as they would be on a regular person.

I’m pretty damned old and just had a cannula in my hand for a couple of days because I had surgery that required me to be knocked out. No hematoma. For him to have gotten one of those, either a nurse fucked up or he’s on blood thinners.

And yeah, there’s some evidence he’s been having mini-strokes on and off for at least a year. Here’s hoping they get progressively worse, and he sees nothing in his future but worsening debility and helplessness, surrounded by people who despise him. May he survive long into his term, just to frustrate Vance’s ambitions. A long power struggle as his flunkies try to remove him from office while dishing the dirt on his incompetence and dementia will also be wonderfully humiliating and will make Vance seem even more like the backstabbing weasel he already is.

I’d rather he croaked earlier because Vance doesn’t have the same belligerence that has led to declaring war on US cities and he doesn’t have the cult following that enables it when Trump does that shit. Vance would be actively undercut by the party and it would fall back to infighting.

If nothing else it wouldn’t be worse now and I wouldn’t have to hear about Trump as much.

He’s probably been having them for years

Once you have one they become more and more common, and the common they are they more likely you are to hit a serious (life ending) one.
